Nature's Bounty

Everytime I go out side, I count my blessing. This crop of sweet dark tomatoes were grown in an half whiskey barrel. I've never did container planting before, but since my yard is now gravel and cement, I figured I would try it. I've learned, and next year the crop should be much better. These are just from the last few days.

Easy Stuffed tomato recipe

As many tomatoes as you like, size DOESN'T matter.
Cut off the tops, and scoop out the insides into a bowl.
Place scooped out tomatoes in a baking pan.
Mash up the insides, and add breadcrumbs, butter, lots and lots of chopped garlic. (fresh or in the jar)
And mush it all together.
Then put it back inside the tomatoes and bake at 350 till the tops are browned. Yummy

Getting up early

You know, being an early bird sucks big time!!!!! I get up at 5:30 - 6:00 am every morning. I have my coffee, then I clean. Yep clean!!! What else is there to do that early in the morning?????

This morning I tackled the refrigerator!!! Ohhhhhhh YUCK!!!! When's the last time I cleaned that thing???? I have no memory of doing it in the last year (but then again my memory is getting worse as I age, so who knows) But, needless to say, it was super UCKEY!!!!

Took me a good hour to clean it out, wipe it down, and then put it all back together again. Now it's pretty! GIGGLE Smells nice, looks nice, and no little dried mystery items in the corner. LOL

But it funny how when you clean a Frige, all the food is gone!!!!! It was crowded with stuff when I started, Now it's empty! I didn't chuck that much out, so where did it go??? Hummmmm

Getting up early makes me do other things too. Sometimes I find myself cleaning windows at 6 am, sometimes I'm outside weeding the gardern, sometimes I'm cleaning out the cushions on the sofa!!!!! It's bad, bad, bad. And no one is awake to stop me!!!!!

I vote that all stores should start opening at 5am!!!!!! If I'm Up, everyone should be up!!!!!!!!!

My Circle

My circle isn't round, you see
with a pentagram deep inside.
My circle is the house I keep
My pretties at my side.
does it matter if it be square or round?
or made of chalk, or wood?
your circle is where bow your head
worship and do good.

Judith Oliveri

Sometime I wake up and wonder.....Is this the move that will stick? Has my wanderlust been sated? Then I step outside my front door, raise my camera to the sky's......... And this is what awaits me. How could anyone be happier any where else?

In the winter, the salt air burns as you inhale, but feels good deep within your lungs.
The summer brings sunsets that match any painting, and the smell of salt, sea, fish, and life into your lungs.

The only thing I could ask for is to be even closer to the sea, but where I am, I'm happy. When I die, I wish my ashes to be put into the waves and washed out to sea. For deep with in every one of us, born to the sign of the fish..... Is a Mermaid, or Merman curled up in a little ball.... And smiling in their sleep.

Someday the sea will reclaim us, and till then, happiness is the smell of salt, sun, waves, and the smell of the bay....Ripe with fish and seaweed.

I look outside at sunset, to this glorious, rich sunset. And I know deep inside, that my matra, "The Goddess will Provide" is the right one. For though the road was long, very sad, and rough in patches, but in the end, she has lead me to the sea once again. And for this, out of all the good she has done me, I am most grateful for.

OCEAN'S END

I wish my love could stand beside me
on the warm and salty sand,
and breath the oceans air with me
in life, and living on this land.
The ocean waves will call me
the life within the sea
And soon my love with join me
in the swim towards eternity

Nobody's perfect - all signs have their vices. Fortunately, astrology provides valuable clues for breaking bad habits. Ending these patterns will help you realize your full potential. Here are some tips for conquering those negative behaviors that get in the way of your ultimate happiness.

• Aries Out in Front
Rams have a habit of pushing to the front of the line, both literally and figuratively. And while this quality has helped Aries get ahead, it can also compromise their relationships. Putting an animal, child or plant in their care can correct the problem. As soon as this sign's nurturing qualities are cultivated, their selfishness will diminish.

• Taurean Trash
Bulls love clutter. Being surrounded by all their possessions gives them a sense of security. It also creates headaches, confusion, and chaos. Storage systems that keep their stuff on display will prevent this sign from strewing their stuff all over the house. Stacking baskets, glass jars, and open shelving can promote organization.

• Nerve-Wracking Twins
Geminis are the nail-biters of the zodiac. Twins are self-conscious about their hands, and need to keep them busy at all times. Activities like knitting, carving, or bead work provide welcome distractions. Weekly manicures will also keep temptation at bay. Twins are less likely to gnaw their cuticles when they've just paid for their upkeep!

• Cancers and the Candyman
If you've ever wondered how Cancers stay so sweet, take a look at their sugar intake. This sign loves cookies, candy, and ice cream. An occasional indulgence is fine, but too much dessert can take a toll on waist lines and energy levels. What Crabs are really seeking is oral gratification. Sugar-free gum or dried fruit provides a healthy distraction from candy crunching.

• Lavish Leos
The guy who's sitting next to you in the elegant restaurant, shouting to his personal assistant on his cell phone? Probably a Leo. It's only natural that a sign that is blessed with creativity, charm and wit feels tempted to show off. Actually, this desire to brag is rooted in insecurity. The sooner Lions learn to compliment others, the quicker they'll receive the praise they crave.

• Virgos Fear Filth
These nit-pickers sometimes compromise their own pleasure for the sake of perfection. Deep down inside, these folks are really sensualists at heart. They need to learn that it is better to feel good than to look good. Allocating a few minutes each day for fun but messy activities like baking, painting, or sculpting can cure Virgos of their fear of filth.

• Libras Love to Shop
Librans gave birth to the term "shopaholic". These folks have every credit card known to man. And while their taste is undeniably impeccable, it can get them in trouble at bankruptcy court. What's really at stake here is a quest for beauty. Enjoying simple but inexpensive pleasures like nature walks and museums can quell the urge to splurge.

• Strictly Scorpios
Nobody carries a grudge better than this sign. Unfortunately, hanging on to resentments has a way of crowding out love, happiness, and trust. In order for a Scorpio to let go of anger, they must first practice self-care. Getting a massage every month or writing in a journal each day will soften this sign's heart and enable forgiveness.

• Brutally Honest Sagittarius
Archers have a bad habit of telling the truth. And while these folks have the best intentions, that doesn't take the sting out of comments like, "Gee, those pants make you look fat!" or "Were you drunk when you wrote this report?" The best way for Archers to cultivate tact is through prodigious study. Etiquette books will definitely help!

• Capricorns Can't Quit
This sign is the original workaholic. Many Capricorns fear that poverty will set in the moment they stop toiling. Keeping a gratitude journal can break this terrible habit. The more Capricorn becomes aware of their non-material blessings, the healthier their behavior will become. No more cutting vacations short for the sake of work!

• Antisocial Aquarius
Water-bearers get into the habit of creating completely self-sufficient lives. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for them to achieve intimacy. Basically, Aquarians are afraid that relationships will compromise their independence. Fortunately, these folks love to experiment. By treating intimacy as an exercise, this sign can relinquish control for the sake of loving relationships.

• Pickled Pisces
As a water sign, it's only natural that Pisceans find comfort in liquids. When those liquids have a high alcohol content, problems can ensue. Naturally, a twelve-step program can be of enormous benefit here. Meditation and yoga can help, too, as they allow Pisces to achieve a healthy sense of nirvana. That's all these Fish are really seeking.

WARNING!!

If your going to write a spell, recite it, then burn the paper afterward .................. TURN OFF YOUR SMOKE ALARMS!!!! Yepper, did a mighty good spell, and then all of a sudden ....Shrieking alarms going off!!!!! Almost stopped my heart with that one. Giggle Not a good thing to happen. Must remember to disable smoke alarms or to keep a window open.

I've decided that it's time I went a few steps further with my religion. I've been a good person, always obeyed the rules and never did anything that would be considered "bad".

But I think maybe it's time that I stopped following the rules so strictly. No, I will not stray from my Goddess, or turn into some kind of Satan worshiper. Giggle
Just not in my make up to do that. Besides, we all know that Satan does not exist.

But I think maybe it's time to do a WHOLE LOT of personal gain spells. I know we aren't supposed to do that, but with much thinking, and getting an understanding of the gods and goddess, I think those rules were written by people, not the goddess. After all, in most stories the gods and goddess were all about personal gain, grand gestures, and excess in everything!!!! Wine, women, men, song, food....They had it all and enjoyed it all.

So why are we so restricted? Probably because with the craft, comes power, and the need to express that power. And the elders saw that and put a few simple rules to control us.

Now we all know, most people need some type of rules to controls themselves. But I've been over 50 years, practicing to be "Glenda the Good Witch of the West" and let me tell you..... Even though I've built up some sweet Karma, I get screwed out of everything!!

And what do I do???? Yep, you got it, I turn my cheek, and forget and forgive. Even though the bile sometimes makes it a real hard thing to do.

What's wrong with looking out for yourself??? Nothing! What's wrong with teaching someone a life lesson (without turning them into a toad) Nothing! So many wrongs against me. And I haven't once tried to get some sort of revenge!!!!

Now all I'm going to do is change the wording of one rule. Yep, to suit me. Because I want to. So there!

1. If it harms none, do as you will

That's the rule. I'm not actually changing it, just interpreting it as something else. I will not HARM ANYONE.

No Killing or maiming or giant pumpkin knife wielding scarecrow creeping up on them at night. But I'm taking the word "Harm" as meaning killing. And I won't do that.... Promise. Cross my heart, hope to die! Besides, it's too hard to hide the body's anymore.... Not enough woods. Giggle

I no longer consider "revenge" as "harm". I no longer consider Love spells that binds a man as "harm". I no longer consider spells for personal gain as "harm" I should have enough good Karma built up from years of being "good" that I can get away with some things with out major kickbacks.

But if there be kickbacks, then so be it. Glenda is dead, and this old Crone is going to get some for herself. But it's too much work to do that........ So I'll just Giggle.

Tell me, am I wrong????? Feel free to express your opinion........ Not that it will change my mind, but still feel free. LOL

Merlin Keeping Kitchen Watch

Older Woman

As I grow in age, I value women who are over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will not lay next to you in bed and ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting.

A woman over 40 knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom.

Few women past the age of 40 give a damn what you might think about her or what she's doing.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

A woman over 40 has the self-assurance to introduce you to her women friends. A younger woman with a man will often ignore even her best friend because she doesn't trust the guy with other women. Women over 40 couldn't care less if you're attracted to her friends because she knows her friends won't betray her.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. They always know.

A woman over 40 looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This is not true of younger women or drag queens.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one!

You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal.
For every stunning, smart, well-coifed hot woman of 40+, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 18-year-old waitress.

Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free." Here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage, why?

Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig, just to get a little sausage. AMEN !!!

The Crone

The Crone is a wise and wonderful woman. She has raised her children, most likely buried one or two husbands, but she's always on hand for the younger women to come to and tell their problems too.

She's understanding, always ready to lend a ear, or a shoulder to cry on. She can give advice on how to make a killer pot roast, or how to burp a fussy baby. She knows what herbs to use, and what to use them for. She knows just about everything, because she's already gone thru it all, and survived.

She is the last stage of a woman's transformation. Maybe that's why I picked her first.... To tell you all about her. I've always felt a little sorry for her. She's always ready to help, but you never hear of people helping her. The young one's are always the ones that beg for help, expect help, and don't even really ask for it..... Just know it will be there when it's needed. When it's not needed they ignore her.

Young women come to her because they are in love, and want a spell to help them along. And the Crone looks at the young man, and helps, and at night dreams that she's the one he wants. LOL And then she laughs at herself in the morning, and goes on with her chores and spells.

I think this stage is the final test of your strenths and faith. The pain and regrets build up. She's ingnored, laughed at, forgotten. There is a point in your life, that you stop fighting the fact that the Crone is becoming you. And you turn and embrace it. You let your hair turn gray, you stop putting on makeup, you stop thinking the door bell will ring.... And that your prince will come. You stop wishing for someone to take care of YOU, and start accepting that you must take care of them.

It's the saddest, and most wonderful part of the cycle. For soon you know you'll be reborn into the Goddess part of the cycle, and be stupid, and vain, and not know what you have till it's lost. LOL Next time we will talk about the goddess cycle, then the earth mother.

Opps, sorry Ty's pic again

'ty snoozing by the pool!!!!

me and my drinkey poo!

more pics

Back from Shore Leave

It was really nice!!! Spent 3 days in the pool, soaking up the peace and calm...That is until the jackhammers started going off on the floor above my bed room!!!! Yep the hotel was renovation, and the jackhammers went off from 10am till 6pm. Right above my room!!!! Every day!!!!!! Yikes, but the hotel was nice, and at least gave us some of the money back in a refund, not much... But it made us feel a little better.

I tried to chill out, even though my head was pounding, and pounding. I didn't let anyone know I had such a severe headache, and you know, after a while, even I forgot about it. Sometimes it's worth it. LOL

I just needed to relax, and think thru some Major problems with money and such. I get an annuity, that pays my bills, but doesn't leave much over for food, or fun or anything else. I took a part time job, but I couldn't take the pain from standing for hours. I was in agony each day, and I had to quit. I need a nice part time :sit down: job, and I do have pretty good office manager skills, but in Sept. My son (who doesn't drive) starts collage, and so I have to be home days to drive him back and forth to school.

And how many office jobs can you get that are at night????? Let me tell you, not much. So I'm going down to check on food stamps, get a little help at least with that. I hate doing it, but I really have no choice. I'm sick of being on a pension!!!!

But aside from that, we sat around the patio, by the pool, and talked and had a good time. And of course a little shopping! :giggle: did I say LITTLE??? Nope, it was a LOT of shopping.

I bought a fabulous full length Purple velvet cape, lined in silk, with an attached hood. Oh Goddess it's was $175!!!!! That's more then I spend in 2 months on groceries!!!!!!!!! I'm going to be sick about it for years...........But it's sooooooo beautiful. I'll take it out and pet it, every once in a while. Giggle

Miss Mary also got some really nice things!!! One of them was a Fox Puppet. It's so cool, you put your hand inside and you can make it talk and wiggle. Giggle. She named it Maryland .... This way she can always remember where she got it. I had to play around with it. Giggle Teasing Miss Mary is fun, but I should behave myself. Giggle But she does it to me too.
They were all teasing me this weekend, but I enjoyed it. LOL But I just can't resist seeing her glare at me, and pout. She's got such a CUTE pout. Giggle

Ty and Steph had a wonderful relaxing weekend also, it was nice to actually hang around with Steph..... She's usually too busy during the conventions to even say more then HI!!! I'm so glad we got to hang, and see the pictures of her new house, and just plain have a good time!!!! I miss the both so much. I even got a few zings in at Ty. LOL I can tell he's not used to being teased.

Off for a long weekend

Well, I'm off for the convention. A nice long weekend..... And yes, for those of you who are wondering.........I did wind up in the room ALONE!!!!! How that happened, again, I have no idea, but it always does. LOL So I went from 2 in the room, to 9 in the room, and down to Just Me. Giggle. But, I'll survive.

I'm looking forward to buying lots of silver jewerly, and maybe some nice new witchy books, sitting by the pool (now that doesn't look great, because it's supposed to rain all weekend...But they do have an indoor part of the pool, so I guess it will do.) and hanging with my fiends, and that's what counts doesn't it? Yep, I'm a happy camper. Giggle

Oh the nice Ex-boyfriend couldn't make it, even though I tried everything to get him to come. Typical man, doesn't move unless it's for sports. LOL Even the promise of MAJOR sex, couldn't get him off the coutch. <<>> Men are SUCH ASSHOLES!!!!! Don't you all agree? Giggle

A Special Gift for someone

I thought I would share this gift idea with everyone.

I've done it a few times for special gifts, like a new baby or someone that's very ill. It's called a Crystal Garden.
You find a nice bowl. Maybe a fish bowl, something with high sides and an opening on the top big enough to put your hands thru. I've used a regular fish bowl many times, and sometimes I'll use watered down acrylic paint to wash transparent colors inside the walls of the bowl. Sometimes I just leave it clear.
When you find the bowl you like, Fill the bottom with gravel, or maybe some pretty glass marbles, on top of that add some nice dirt... don't use potting soil.... Use real dirt from your garden.
Then the fun starts. Add some cute little plants, pretty rocks and stones, and place crystal points all around. Make a design, or try to make it look like a natural setting. Let your imagination take over, make a clearing in the glenn for the fairies to dance in! You can also go to the pet store, and get some cute items that you would use in a real aquarium. Like a treasure chest, or a castle. and just have fun with it. Make it look like something in a dream, peaceful and serene. When you finished, mist the plants, and give the bowl and a mister to the person you made it for. it will last for years, and you'll have happy crystals and a happy recipiant

Sabbats and Celebrations

THE WICCAN/WITCHES DAYS OF CELEBRATION

The "spokes" of the Wheel are the Sabbats, or Solar Holidays which consecrate the Sun's year by natural events. Four of the Sabbats, known as the quarters, mark the astronomical beginnings of the seasons:

Yule, or the Winter Solstice (circa December 21)
Ostara, or the Spring Equinox (cira March 21)
Midsummer, or the Summer Solstice (cira June 21)
Mabon, or the Falls Equinox (cira September 21)

The remaining Sabbats are called the Cross Quarters. These holidays are based in part upon old agricultural festivals such as:

The birthing of the first lambs (Imbolic, February 2)
The fertility of the growing fields (Beltane, May 1)
The time of the harvest (Lughnasadh, August 1)
The sacrifice of animals for winter food (Samhain, October 31)

The eight Sabbats commemorate an ancient and endless cycle of rebirth, cleansing, fertility, passion, growth, sacrifice, harvest, and death.

And a good point to remember: We are now a "LEGAL RELIGION". Even that Armed Forces have special clergy to handle wiccian members. NO ONE, can tell you how/where/or who you worship! If you work, legally you can ask for your holidays off, and your employer cannot deny you them...But most people like to work with their employers with all holidays

FREEDOM OF RELIGION, MEANS ANY RELIGION!!!!!

The Wiccan Rede

The Wiccan Rede
Bide the Wiccan Law ye must,
In perfect love, in perfect trust.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill:
An'ye harm none, do as ye will.
An' ever mind the Rule of Three:What ye sends out comes back to thee.
follow this with mind and heart

THE WICCAN REDE:
"An ye harm None, do as ye will." In essence, this rule says do whatever you like, as long as it doesn't bring harm to yourself or to another. This is not an invitation to run amuck without repercussion. This principle requires a high degree of consciousness in terms of assessing the myriad physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual consequences related to any particular action. In other words, this tenet says "Look well before you leap, and make darn sure youre not going to land on anybody else.

THE THREEFOLD LAW:
"What you do comes back to you threefold." Another principle of consequence, the Threefold Law is like the Buddhist notion of karma, pointing out the inevitable return of expended energy. This relates to physical action as well as emotional thought forms; kindness extended comes back magnified, as does negativity and ill will. This principle in particular governs the magic that Wiccans/Witches practice; no true Witchwould ever put a curse on someone, or even consider performing "black magic,"lest it come back to them three times worse!

THE GOLDEN RULE:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." This is pretty self-explanatory and, as with the other two principles, puts responsibility for right action straight in the lap of the individual. TheGolden Rule creates an environment of respect for everyone; most Wiccans/Witches have dealt with prejudice of one sort or another from the outside world, and so tend to be even more accepting of anyone or anything "different."
Wiccans/Witches respect the idea that different spiritual beliefs work for different people. In fact, many Witches add aspects of other religious systems, such as Native Americans Shamanism or Buddhism, to their rituals and practices. Others work closley with Catholic saints, angels, and Jesus Christ. Religion is the language of spirituality, and Wiccans/Witches are definitely multilingual!

Witchcraft is comforting. You learn that the night is as beautiful as the daytime, that the dark and the light are equal, that neither is better than the other...that life and death exist beside one another, as a balance.
Bide within the law you must, In perfect love and perfect trust.Live you must and let to live,Fairly take and fairly give....
