A poppet is a small object made to represent a creature, real or imagined. It could be a drawing of a stick figure on paper, a small object made out of available material, or a bought statue.
By talking to this poppet, telling it the news and so on, we should over a period of time gain the attention of an invisible helper who could turn into a Familiar.
Treat it nice, talk to it, be it's friend, and wait for it to happen!
