Hummmm, well it wasn't as Merry as I would have liked. LOL Because of gas shortage I couldn't go to my daughters for Christmas,
It wasn't too horrible, Eileen always cooks a ton of stuff, and always good. My cousin Mike, who a muti millionaire gave me a cheap, horrible, necklace...Worth aroud a dollar... oh well, he didn't know I was coming, but then again, Ebinezer Scrooge was a pussy cat compared to him. Eileen gave me some stuff she bought at shore leave...Which was really nice. And my Aunt Harriet promised to send me some money, which is greatly appreciated.

My friend Mary bummed out of all holiday celebrations... Which considering how much fun we usually have, was the worst thing that happened over the holidays.

My friend Steph came up for a few days! That was the highlight of my holiday. We sat and gabbed, for days! I needed that. LOL It was fun, but she had to leave early because of work. "Damned Priests!!!"

Ohhhhhh, but I did a total NO NO! I had half a glass of wine, the kind with sulfur in it to preserve it!!!! BAD MOVE!!!! I was sick as a dog, with racing heartbeat so bad that I almost went to the hospital!!!! Yes, no I realize that since I stopped taking Benadryle, I let my self open to a major allergy attack!! But, I still don't want to start taking Benadryle regular like I was before....So I'll just be SUPER CAREFUL! SULFUR SUCKS BIG TIME!!!!

Well, it was my fault. But it was sooooo funny since we just sat and talked about all the DRAMA our friends put out.... And boom, I'm almost ready to head for the hospital!!!! Thank the goddess I'm not one of those hypocondriacs that think they have everything, just so they get some attention!!!

I had a girlfriend, Chris Walsh, that I knew since childhood. Everything anyone had, she got. Sometimes I think she spent hours on the internet just looking for something she could mimic..... This way she had attention from everyone, even doctors, and she didn't seem happy unless she was sick. I finely had to drop her as a friend. Such selfishness is disgusting after a while. You want to be nice, support her in her time of need...But when you realize it's all a big FAKE, you feel betrayed, and hurt, and disgusted. I felt sorry for her, but I couldn't keep being her friend, it was just too much work. I know this problem is a disease in it self, but it's one the person can control, if they want to, but she just needed that attention...... I guess she figured bad attention, is better then none. She never stopped to think about that I guess

I mention her, because she e-mailed me a few days before christmas, I had her blocked, but she changed her e-mail address and it got thru my block. This WHOLE LETTER ABOUT HER!!!! Not ONCE did she ask how I was, just went on and on about how sick she was, and what the doctors said about it.

Now, this is the girl who told me over 20 yrs ago, that the doctors said she would be in a wheel chair in 2 years or less...... ummmmm, not going to happen, never did. She's actually healthy as a horse! But not in her mind. And mental illness is something that most people can't cope with. I guess I was her only friend left, all the others dropped her after a while...they got smart. Then I finaly reached the end of my pity for her, and dropped her also. So she sits home, and whines, and calls doctors and doesnt' do shit around the house...because she's so sick. Sigh

I'm a good person, love my friends, and value them for what they are...but even I have my limits. LOL

Now, I'm going over Jamie's (my daughter) on New Years Day!!!! (it's the first of the month, which means I have gas money) Yippie, now I can finally see the kids and give them their gifts!!!!! Happy dance!!!!!!

Bad Luck

bad luck is coming, can you feel it?

Well, my Christmas shopping is all done, but it's going to KILL me. I have a grand total left in my baking account of $10 whole dollars!!!!!

And I still need sugar, catfood, and gas till the end of the month! :(

But, I have two items sold on e-bay which isn't much, just like $20, but every little bit helps, and maybe some other stuff will sell too. "cross your fingers and toe's"

On top of that, I didn't pay 2 bills. Now admittingly, this is the first time EVER that I didn't pay all the bills.......so I'm not worried, I'll just catch up next month. It feels funny though, I hate not having my bills paid. The two bills together just total $160, so it won't be too bad catching up......hopefully.

And I have no idea how I'm going to go up to Jamie's for Christmas, or down to Mike's to see Aunt Harriet, like I promised.....but I'll figure SOMETHING out. I hear walking is good for you. GIGGLE

But if that house doesn't sell soon, I'm going to SCREAM. LOL

I think maybe I'm going to turn Jehovah Witness...... giggle they don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays or anything ........ so I won't go broke buying gifts!!!!!!! It's just the door to door crap I can't take. LOL

Special Buddha

This is a very special Buddha. It was in my mother's house, in the living room for as long as I can remember. When she died I scooped it up and brought it home. Here he is ready for the holidays!!!

RUM BALLS

I always make rum balls for the holidays. This year I can't make them, because the ingrediants are too expencive, but I wanted to share with you. A little hint, use flavored rum when your making these. I use banana rum, chocolate rum.... and so on. Add's a huge hint of flavor


Yum-Rum Balls



Prep: 40 min., Cook: 10 min., Chill: 3 hrs.

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
3 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
3 tablespoons dark rum
1/2 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Cook sweetened condensed milk and chocolate morsels in a heavy saucepan over medium heat, stirring often, until chocolate morsels melt.
Remove from heat, and stir in rum. Pour into a lightly greased 8-inch square pan. Cover and chill 3 hours or until firm.

Shape mixture into 1 1/4-inch balls; roll in chocolate cookie crumbs and then in powdered sugar. Place balls in miniature paper baking cups, if desired. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 1 week.

What I want

You know, I don't want much.

I want to have a cookie with my coffee in the morning. Oatmeal if possible, chocolate chip is good too.
I want a small place, so I don't have to spend all my time cleaning
I want a cool bedroom, and warm blankets
I want a Hot bathtub, and sweet smelling oils
I want to walk barefoot all year long
I want warm summer, and cooler fall and spring.... But no winter
I want an unending supply of lox and lobsters. You can add some shrimp and other sea food into that.
I want milk that has the cream still on top .... Oh yes, I'm old enough to remember that

I want to sit in a tree reading durning the spring and summer
I want a place to swim, salt water is best
I want hot coffee and tea
I want a sexy black man, for sometime use.....but not full time

Christmas Tree's

This year, for the first time in years, I considered getting a REAL Christmas tree. Every one is always bugging me about getting a real tree. Saying how tacky a fake one is ect. And when I was a child we had real tree's in the house. And it WAS wonderful! But I couldn't afford to get a artificial tree this year, so I thought hard about getting a real one..... At least that's what I told everyone, but it wasn't going to happen!!! Thankfully, my friend Mary bought me a fake tree as a gift!!!! THANK YOU MARY!!!!!

I tell everyone that I get a fake tree because of having hot air heat, and how it's not good for real tree's .... But the fact is....... I lie to everyone. I don't feel like getting up on my soapbox during the holidays. I find I can't hurt other peoples traditions.

The fact is, I can't stomach buying a LIVE tree.... Cutting them down, separating them from the earth and their roots.... In effect KILLING them. Just so I can put them in my house, decorate them and then put them out in the cold for the trash after they are dead!!!!!

Now I don't mind putting up wreaths, which are just cut branches of tree's, but the whole tree..... It's very upsetting to see such a wonder, cut, and placed in someone's house for fun. It makes me shudder, and I want to cry every time I see it.

Think of it's long, almost endless life in the wild. Seeing the seasons, the sky, the animals that live in it.... And then being dragged to the curb, dead, dried up, for the garbage man to collect it. I wish people could see it as I do, plant one in your yard in the spring, and go outside and decorate it for Christmas..... But don't cut it down!!!!!

I don't hate people who use real tree's. I'm not that type of person..... Which is why I don't go on about killing a tree for your entertainment...... But when I go into a house where there is a real tree...... I take a few moments to talk to it in my mind.....To apologize for the person who killed it, and to explain that they don't really understand what they did.

Tradition is tradition, and human, animal, and plant sacrifice go back generations and generations. You continue with what you learn, and what you do. But, if anything all I sacrifice is some PVC plastic, and some metal..... And I'm happy.

So, be it tacky, or corney, or whatever you want to call it..... This year, again, as all the others.... I haven't killed anything so that I could enjoy the SMELL of it! But, I will get a wreath and hang it, for the wonderful pine smell that we all enjoy. Other then that, I'll stick to my principals and enjoy my tacky artificial tree. When the lights are on..... All I see is the beauty, and I leave the heartache to others.

Yule Information

Yule, (pronounced EWE-elle) is when the dark half of the year relinquishes to the light half. Starting the next morning at sunrise, the sun climbs just a little higher and stays a little longer in the sky each day. Known as Solstice Night, or the longest night of the year, much celebration was to be had as the ancestors awaited the rebirth of the Oak King, the Sun King, the Giver of Life that warmed the frozen Earth and made her to bear forth from seeds protected through the fall and winter in her womb. Bonfires were lit in the fields, and crops and trees were "wassailed" with toasts of spiced cider.

Children were escorted from house to house with gifts of clove spiked apples and oranges which were laid in baskets of evergreen boughs and wheat stalks dusted with flour. The apples and oranges represented the sun, the boughs were symbolic of immortality, the wheat stalks portrayed the harvest, and the flour was accomplishment of triumph, light, and life. Holly, mistletoe, and ivy not only decorated the outside, but also the inside of homes. It was to extend invitation to Nature Sprites to come and join the celebration. A sprig of Holly was kept near the door all year long as a constant invitation for good fortune to pay visit to the residents.

The ceremonial Yule log was the highlight of the festival. In accordance to tradition, the log must either have been harvested from the householder's land, or given as a gift… it must never have been bought. Once dragged into the house and placed in the fireplace it was decorated in seasonal greenery, doused with cider or ale, and dusted with flour before set ablaze be a piece of last years log, (held onto for just this purpose). The log would burn throughout the night, then smolder for 12 days after before being ceremonially put out. Ash is the traditional wood of the Yule log. It is the sacred world tree of the Teutons, known as Yggdrasil. An herb of the Sun, Ash brings light into the hearth at the Solstice.

A different type of Yule log, and perhaps one more suitable for modern practitioners would be the type that is used as a base to hold three candles.
Find a smaller branch of oak or pine, and flatten one side so it sets upright. Drill three holes in the top side to hold red, green, and white (season), green, gold, and black (the Sun God), or white, red, and black (the Great Goddess). Continue to decorate with greenery, red and gold bows, rosebuds, cloves, and dust with flour.

Deities of Yule are all Newborn Gods, Sun Gods, Mother Goddesses, and Triple Goddesses. The best known would be the Dagda, and Brighid, the daughter of the Dagda. Brighid taught the smiths the arts of fire tending and the secrets of metal work. Brighid's flame, like the flame of the new light, pierces the darkness of the spirit and mind, while the Dagda's cauldron assures that Nature will always provide for all the children.
