I'm sorry to report that Artie Artichoke has passed away.
The official medical report, reports his death As an Accidental drowning. (in boiling water)
Unfortunately a more thorough exam could not be made since his remains were covered in lemon butter and eaten by person, or person's unknown.
We shall all miss him, but he is survived by 6 brothers. Hopefully this unlucky streak shall not contaminate the entire family.
He was a good artichoke, and met his death with dignity and fulfillment. Thank you

YUCK
Almost had to cancel shore leave!!!!!!!!
The realtor called and said I had to install smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors in Mom's house.. Then pay a 50$ fee to get it inspected!!! (we are closing on the 17th of July)
I just didn't have the money!!!! So I told the real estate agent that, and called and left a message on the lawyers phone........ And then refused to answer the phone from either one of them. LOL
Well, it worked, they eventually talked to each other, and figured out that they had to do it themselves, and did it. So now I don't have to worry about it, and shore leave is on!!!
Sometimes NOT answering the phone is a GOOD thing. Let them do some of the work for once!!!! I'm tapped out, and broke, and they can all go fuck themselves!!!!!
I'm doing all the work for a 1/4 of the money, while the step grandson gets 1/2!!! no fucking way. He got all the insurance money, and the bank account...... let him do some fucking work and spend some money!!! It was my Mom's house! My sister and I should have gotten it all!

Past / Future? SABASTION
Sometimes I see a picture somewhere, and I know that it's a person I know.... even though it isn't of a real person.
I found 2 of them that shouted "SABASTION" as soon as I saw them. Maybe one is past and one is future, but this is him. He's only 6 years old, but it's him

Just to keep you updated. The baby is growing at a super fast rate!!!! As you can see from the picture. And on either side are more baby's!!! I can't wait to eat them!!!!
My sister and I were wondering who ever thought to first eat an artichoke? Raw, they taste horrible!!!!!! Heavy iron content makes them bitter, very bitter!!!! Cooked they are fantastic. But who was the first person to decide to eat them???? I have no idea, but he must have been VERY hungry!

I DID IT!!!!!!!!
I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!
First you have to know that Artichokes don't grow here in NJ. They are a California crop, sometimes, but most of the time they come from warm country's over seas.
I bought some seeds this winter, and planted them.... In the house.... Almost 3 months early. I fed them, and talked to them, and replanted them in bigger and bigger pots. And when it was really warm outside, I repoted the plants and put them out side.
All the time wondering, just where do the artichokes form???? On the stems? Like brussle sprouts? Hummmm Have no idea at all!!!! Well, now I do!!!!! They form like flower buds!!!!!
For those of you who don't garden, your thinking "what a nut case!".... Excited about artichokes.
But for you who do garden, you know it's almost impossible to grow plants not in your zone.... And from seeds!!!! Almost never.
So I'm PROUD of myself. LOL

GODDESS'S
OYA
Oya is the powerful Yoruba Goddess of the Winds of Change; the Primeval Mother of Chaos; Queen of the Nine (for the nine tributaries of the Niger River). Using her machete, or sword of truth, she cuts through stagnation and clears the way for new growth. She does what needs to be done. She is the wild woman, the force of change; lightning, fire, tornadoes, earthquakes and storms of all kinds are ruled by Oya. She is also Queen of the Marketplace, a shrewd businesswoman and adept with horses. As the wind, she is the first breath and the last, the one who carries the spirits of the dead to the other world, which is why she is associated with cemeteries. The sculpture on the right is after the Oya Shrine: Female Equestrian by Bamgboye, Odo-Owa, Ekiti region, mid 20th century. The heads on her necklace are from the same piece.

GODDESS'S
YEMAYA
Yemaya, the Yoruba Mother of the Sea, mother of all life because the sea is the source of all life, is said to have seven aspects with various characteristics. The first time she walked on earth, fountains that later became rivers sprang up wherever she set foot. Sea shells, through which the priestesses and priests could hear the voice of the universe, were among her first gifts to the people. She is wearing an 18th century Ijebu armlet with a fish-legged figure.

Spells for Everyday life
To free yourself of Anger
Add three teaspoons of mint leaves to one cup of boiling water. Let the tea steep for six minutes and inhale the steam as the tea strengthens. Strain, sweeten with honey, and chant the following over the tea:
'Cool my anger, herb of mint. Honey, sweeten my intent.
My attitude, I ask you, change. Toss heat of temper out of range.'
Drink the tea and feel your anger evaporate.
To Control Panic
Pan, your dancing around my life has done its part
Now chaos reigns, true to your art
I call upon your mercy now
Though to the good in your power I do bow
Playful Pan, act benign
Let this chaos now decline
so mote it be
A Cleansing Chant
A reader said she uses this chant because she finds it "hard not to rave and rant." Perhaps this is something we could all use!
Uphold the rules of the Wiccan Rede.
Be high in spirit ye shall succeed.
Power of the Elements Five,
Will help Mother Nature stay alive.
From grains of Earth to the moving Air.
Past the burning Fire that magic flares.
Flow with Water, lakes, and streams;
Around the Spirit's aura and dreams.
Strength Spell
This is a small spell I use quite often. mostly when I'm stressing out because I can't open that pickle jar, the box is a little too heavy, or when the screwdriver just wont turn.
First, quickly clear your mind. Then repeat the following verse three times:
Strength of day
Strength of night
Give me strength
Beyond my sight.
Now try that little chore again it should be a lot easier than before!

Teddy Bears, NOT for children any more!!!!
My sister collects these Teddy's. Of course they are total adult teddys, I cant even imaging the trauma they would cause on a poor child. But they are sooooo cute!! They are called TEDDY SCARES!!!!! Each one is unique, and has a history all it's own. Like the one above, here's his story:
Redmond Gore 12" Plush
It's a mystery where Redmond came from, but his purpose is clear. He's a ruthless hunter, each night out to find another victim. A burlap sack covers his face so he can't be stared at. Very rarely will words escape from his hood, except a mumbled riddle or a wicked laugh. He has no identity just his axe.
$28.99
They aren't expensive, but if your like some other people and have a uncontrollable fear of dolls..... This teddy isn't for you.
I, on the other hand, find him delightful, and feel he would protect me from the bogeyman..... as long as I keep him happy and fed

Witches Alphabet
This is the witches Alphabet. When you become a witch you pick a secret name for yourself.
You can use this to translate that name in to the witches alphabet. You can then write it on your things, feeling free that no one will discover your name...... That is of course unless they know the alphabet like you do. LOL
Use an enamel paint pen to inscribe your name, or words of power on all your items!!!!

Name Calling
Ok, now my daughter brought this to my attention. I feel that personal freedom is a mainstay of the U.S. Go ahead and talk, or say what you want to.......But Name Calling??? LOL
This woman, who's an author of some really bad, not well read, books, thinks that calling these women (by the way, I was born and raised in East Brunswick!!!!)WITCHES is an insult. Well, sweetie, hate to tell you, but calling these women "WITCHES" Is the nicest thing you can say about a woman. You would have been better off calling them "Sluts" or someother term, that is an actual insult!
So, cope with your jealousy, and get over it. Your books will never make the money those women made from insurance. But then again your books aren't covered with the ashes of your husbands, mates, and father of your children. GROW UP!!!!!!
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Conservative author Ann Coulter sparked a storm on Wednesday after describing a group of September 11 widows who backed the Democratic Party as millionaire "witches" reveling in their status as celebrities.
"I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much," Coulter writes in her book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," published on Tuesday, referring to four women who headed a campaign that resulted in the creation of the September 11 Commission that investigated the hijacked plane attacks.
Coulter wrote that the women were millionaires as a result of compensation settlements and were "reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis."
A spokeswoman for publisher Crown Forum said it had set a first print run of 1 million copies of "Godless" and there were 1.5 million copies of Coulter's previous four books in print.
The four women, Kristen Breitweiser, Patty Casazza, Mindy Kleinberg and Lorie Van Auken, declined to discuss the book in detail but issued a statement saying they had been slandered.
"There was no joy in watching men that we loved burn alive. There was no happiness in telling our children that their fathers were never coming home again," said the statement signed by the four, along with a fifth woman, Monica Gabrielle.
The four women, who live in or around East Brunswick, New Jersey, became friends after September 11 and formed a group that agitated for the investigation. "Our only motivation ever was to make our nation safer," they said.
Coulter, whose books include the bestseller "How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must)," argues in the new book the women she dubs "the Witches of East Brunswick" wanted to blame President George W. Bush for not preventing the attacks.
She criticized them for making a campaign advertisement for Democratic presidential candidate Sen John Kerry in 2004, and added: "By the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better hurry up and appear in Playboy."

Oldie but Goodie
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake:
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

:(
Well, it finally happened....... Something I've been dreading for years! Yep, that's right...... I had to buy an "old lady" bathing suit!!!!! Depressed? You bet yah, but I'll get over it. LOL
This last year as I reached 55 yrs. Old I noticed that certain things started, ummmmm, sort of....... hanging.......... Yuck, So I bought a bathing suit with a cute little skirt to hide the lose thighs! It's not bad actually, It's really kinda pretty, but it's the type I see old lady's wearing. <<<<< SIGH >>>>> Guess that now I'm in that category. GIGGLE
Who the fuck cares!!!!! I was skinny and striking when it counted, all the way into my 40's...... Now I'm gray haired, chubby, GRANDMOTHER! And if I managed to survive the "grandmother" thing, I can survive this. LOL
Besides, at Shore Leave, where I'm going to wear the bathing suit, there are women who are MUCH, MUCH WORSE then me. LOL At least I don't weigh 500 lbs, and not shave my arm pits!!!! You don't believe me???? Well, come to the convention and see. LOL Or I'll try to get some pictures to prove it. giggle

Bide the Wiccan Law ye must,
In perfect love, in perfect trust.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill:
An harm ye none, do what ye will.
What ye send forth comes back to thee,
So ever mind the rule of three.
Follow this with mind and heart,
And merry ye meet, and merry ye part.

Pretty, Pretty
I wanted to show you all this. I made it for someone for Christmas, and since I didn't see them, I decided to keep it myself. I'm really happy I did, because it really turned out nice!
It's a sterling silver charm bracelet. And I bought some sterling silver Witch charms for it:
1. Egyptian cat goddess (can't forget the kitty)
2. Witches cauldron
3. Witches broom
4. Celtic pentagram
5. 3 Pure crystal beads (for calming and power)
6. Chinese symbol for love
7. Witches hat with symbol's
It turned out so nice, that I'm hoping to add more charms as I go along, though finding witch charms is sometimes hard to do, the over all finish is fantastic!!!!
And very powerful!!!!

My daugher Jamie wrote this.
I AM YOUNG, I AM OLD, I AM A MAIDEN, AND A MOTHER, I SPEAK MY MIND I SPEAK MY HEART, I DREAM IN COLORS. I AM A WITCH AN ARTIST AND A DREAMER. I AM A MASK, I AM A HEALER, I AM AN ENTITY OF MY OWN.

Morganna
Pale as the moon,
beautiful as the sun,
Morganna flew into sky.
To slay the dragon,
to drink his blood,
and know the victory
that revenge could give.
fairy, angel, witch, or bitch.
Knife of moonbeams
shields of love
Skys of umber far above.
No fate, no hell, nor horror breed
can save themselves from a womans grief

The Witch
In the darkness strode the Witch
thru a forest, black as pitch.
Owl's hooting far away,
she rose to meet the coming day.
In the early morning dew,
she'd fight horror that had slew
her love, her life, her wolfen mate
No matter what, her final fate.

Shore Leave 28
Shore leave is really coming together. It's July 7th till the 9th in Hunt Valley MD
Jaime (my daughter), myself, ty, and Steph (good friends) will be sharing a room.
And I'm really looking forward to it!!!!!! Now, I'm a really early riser, and the others are sleep in's.
But, that doesn't bother me, I've had that before. I just leave a change of clothing in the bathroom... So when I get up at 6:30am I go into the bathroom, wash and change, and leave the room looking for a good cup of coffee. I come back later when all are awake and eat breakfast.
When your an early riser you get used to doing things like that. Unlike my sister, who I've been told by her roommates that she will turn on lights, bang around and make noise and wake every one up. I don't do that. Maybe it's sleep envy! LOL I would love to be the one snoozing, but my body is just incapable of it!
I've been known to go to bed at the conventions at 4 in the morning, and still wake up at 6, bright eyed and bushy tailed. LOL Annoying isn't it.
Well, we are going to bring a ton of food with us, and booze so we don't have to buy drinks at the bar..... At least not ALL our drinks at the bar. LOL I do enjoy something called a "creamsical" don't know what it is, but it has whipped cream, and a icecream texture, orange and cream... yummmmmmm... And I love it! LOL
Jaime and I will lay by the pool, go swimming, hang with old friends, and generally have a total blast. That is if we can avoid the usual load of Geeks and freaks that go to these conventions...... But I'm really good at NOT making eye contact. As long as you don't look them in the eye.... They will not be able to get chummy with you. LOL If you look at a geek or freak, they will glom on to you, and you sometimes can't get rid of them. LOL especially one we call "Smurfette, or wolf woman" She doesn't get the hint that you don't want her or like her, and if you look at her..... Your whole convention will be ruined.
I'm hoping to get a pool side room, I talked to the hotel management, and it looks good, but of course it's always 1st come 1st served, but I usually go early enough to get the room I want. If I can't have poolside, I'd like a room on the other side of the hall, they also have patios, but it faces the lawn and tennis courts....Which isn't a bad thing either..... Lots of privacy, and no screaming kids to annoy you when your sitting outside.
Let me tell you a little about Shore Leave. This is Shore Leave 28, and except for one year when my water heater blew and I had to use up my money for that.... I've been to ALL of them.
It is a BIG Star Trek conventions. HUGE dealers room with everything from silver jewelry to toys! The covention is Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I get there Friday morning and leave by noon on Sunday. There has been over 10,000 people attending the conventions, so it gets crowded and noisy and.... Well just fun.
I used to work the convention.... Doing security for the movie stars, now, I don't even know what stars are attending.... I don't go to see them.... I go for the drinks, the pool, and tons of old friends and fun.
Though working security in the past, did do a lot for me. I got to meet, and become friends with a lot of the star's and even dated one or two..... And slept with a few more.... Giggle..... BIG boost to my ego, let me tell you. I don't do bad for a chubby old lady! Giggle
Now I just want to relax, have fun, and....... Well, relax is the major word. LOL
Money will be tight, unfortunately. I didn't get the last income tax check yet. They said 30 days, and like that's today! No check has come, but I have no quams about spending all my bill money for July on the convention. I'll just have to catch up later with them...... I'm going, come hell or high water. LOL I was also hoping my mom's house would sell before now, but no luck there either.
The hotel run around $257.64 for the two nights. That's not a bad price, and that includes Md's 14% sales tax!!! And we are bringing food, and snacks, so that will save a little money. I wanted to make this a slam bang con for my daughter who hasn't been to one in about 10 years.... So who the fuck cares if the bills don't get paid, I'm gonna have fun. Then there is the gas, tolls, and of course food and spending money.
Of course, there is always the chance the check will come before July, I can hope and pray it will, but if it doesn't..... I'll cope! I'm not going to let it ruin the con for me, I'll just have to behave myself spending.

Why the interest in crows?
Why all the interest.
Well, you see, both me and my next door neighbor keep our garbage cans outside the back door, on the side of the house. It makes it easy. You go out on the pouch, lean over the railing and drop your garbage into the can. Very easy and neat.
That is, if your me. Now for some reason she doesn't use black garbage bags like I do, but prefers to put her garbage in tiny shop rite shopping bags..... And she finds it way to hard to lean over the railing, and just chucks her garbage on the back porch. Then when she has enough bags there........ Then she puts them in the can. Why??? Who the fuck knows.
But since my computer is in front of the window facing her back porch, I get an exciting view of scavengers ripping her garbage to shred's and eating it.
This is including a very, very large crow. Get the picture?
Also an assortment of birds, cats, and even an occasional groundhog, know that her pouch is a smorgensborg of food. I also see what she eats. And I can tell you now, she is not a cook, mostly fast food hamburgers. LOL
So, each morning I sit typing on my computer while Merlin, my cat, sits on the desk looking out the window making strange ack ack ack noises at the crow..... And the crow looks at Merlin and gives him the very evil eye. LOL
Now, Merlin's cool with wildlife, as long as it doesn't come into our yard. He will watch, and enjoy and make noises..... heaven forbid that they come on our patio, or back stairs. Then he will ram himself into the glass door to try to get at them...... Giving him a headache, and me more glass to use windex on to get rid of cat noise prints. LOL
Now, I could complain to the park manager about her.... But then what would I have to entertain me while I'm on the computer????? It's better then re-runs on the TV!
I used to go out in my yard, and pick up any bags and shit that the animals scattered from her garbage and put it in my garbage. Now I just return the stuff to hers. I really don't care if she's a pig....But, please, not in my yard!
