I love my DVR!!! No freaking commercials!!!
I'm having a lot of trouble with the commercials on TV this year! I sit there screaming at them when I have to watch them..... UGH!
Like Zales!!!! OMG get a freaking life!!!!! All those lovie dovie hubbys!!!!
Yeah, really? Not gonna happen, most hubbys hate to buy Christmas gifts... and when have you actually known one to get the "perfect" gift for his wife?
Case in point.... I had 4 waffle irons!!!! 4!!!!! And I DON'T, AND HAVE NEVER, MADE WAFFLES....EVER!!!!
And the "Chocolate Diamonds"???? Brown, they are BROWN! Diamonds shouldn't be BROWN!!!! Calling them chocolate is just a way to say, give someone the precious gift of UGLY BROWN DIAMONDS... cause we're stuck with a ton of them!!!!
And the Victoria Secret commercials!!!!! Do I HAVE to say anything about them!!! How many REAL woman out there want to line up and shoot all those women wearing those wings???? Raise your guns!!! GIGGLE
And all those extra money in your bank commercials... do you know how much cash advances for your paycheck cost? You wind up paying make more then you can afford for the ease of having you paycheck early! And now the Indian's are trying to suck you into it too!!! "Oh, I'm I need money fast this year, and my paychecks not here yet.... so I'm gonna borrow some from the Indians.... and pay it back at 250%!!! Really?
Lets just say I had tons of Christmas cheer, till I stopped going fast forward past the commercials and stopped to watch a few!!!!
I could go on and on, but I'm sure your sick of my ranting by now, so I'm going to READ A BOOK, till the holiday commercials are GONE!!!!

My son!
My son was IMing me yesterday, in a total snit!!!!
He was sure he was failing Arabic, or getting a D!!! And heaven forbid that it would cause him to lower his GPA!!!! OHHHHHH NOOOOOO!
He ranted on line for like a hour, and then he decided he was going to E-mail his teacher, ask her to fail him, and not show up for the finial
You see, a "F" is erased, if you take the course over again!!!! Really???
I know of not one employer that will ask you your GPA, but he's so competitive with himself that it was driving him (and me, since I had to respond to his frantic typing!!!!!) NUTS!!!!
And hour later his teacher responded that he was at a "B"!!!!!
No where near failing!!!!! And after the finial exam he's probably getting a freaking A!!!!
All this when he's away at school!!!! What happens when he comes home!!!!
Save me!!!!! Please, save me!!!!!

22 DAYS!!!!
Sounds like a great title for a horror movie, doesn't it? 22 days of unrelenting TERROR! SIGH
Yep, that's how long the boy will be home for winter break. He IM'd me last night, complaining that he only had 22 days home before school started again.... and it wasn't enough time!!!!
And I'm thinking... holy fuck!!!! He'll be home for 22 days!!!!
I feel bad for him that I feel bad about it, but what can you do?
I never knew how nice my privacy was, how peaceful, how short lived... till he went away to school. It's like.....awww, can't explain it, but I do have to endure.
I just keep thinking that sooooooooon, summer will be here, and those 22 days will seem like nothing!
OK, take a deep breath....I can get through this.... I will endure.... I will not SNAP! Keep saying that, over, and over, and over!!!!!!!

Candle magic for the New Year
I love to do candle spells to welcome the New Year. There is something about the smell of burning candles that seems to make the time magical and sweet.
Here is some hints for your spells:
(REMINDER: Always, always stay with your candle's while they are burning, never leave them burning without you in the room!!!! This is especially important if you insist on using oils to anoint your candles!!!!)
COLOR CORRESPONDENCES
Light, like all things, vibrates.
Every color vibrates at a different speed.
The different vibrations of various colors can be used by our brains in the rituals we perform for healing, meditations, magic, or any thing we wish.
This is called practical magic because we are using an Element, this time Light. Each color represents a principle or value.
Red - Energy, Strength, Passion, Courage, Element of Fire, Career Goals, Fast Action, Lust, Blood of the Moon, Vibrancy, Driving Force, Love, Survival
Orange - Business Goals, Property Deals, Ambition, Career Goals, General Success, Justice, Legal Matters, Selling, Action
Copper - Passion, Money Goals, Professional Growth, Fertility in Business, Career Maneuvers
Gold - Wealth , The God, Promote Winning, Safety and Power of the Male, Happiness, Playful Humor
Yellow - The Sun, Intelligence, Accelerated Learning, Memory, Logical Imagination,
Breaking Mental Blocks, Selling Yourself
Pink - Romantic Love, Planetary Good Will, Healing of Emotions, Peace, Affection, Romance, Partnerships of Emotional Maturity, Caring, Nurturing
Green - Earth Mother, Physical Healing, Monetary Success, Abundance, Fertility, Tree and Plant Magic, Growth, Element of Earth, Personal Goals
Blue - Good Fortune, Opening Blocked communication, Wisdom, Protection, Spiritual Inspiration,Calm, Reassurance, Gently Moving, Element of Water, Creativity
Purple - Influencing People in High Places, Third Eye, Psychic Ability, Spiritual Power, Self Assurance,Hidden Knowledge
Silver - Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Psychometry, Intuition, Dreams, Astral Energies,Female Power, communication, The Goddess
Brown - Influence Friendships, Special Favors
Black - Protection Repelling Negativity, Binding, Shapeshifting
White - Spirituality, The Goddess, Peace, Higher Self, Purity, Virginity (which means that the woman's mind is her own, and not controlled by a man) white may also be substituted for any other color.
CANDLE MAGIC
Candle magic is used with visualization and intent toward whichever goal or need you have.
Candles are an effective tool for concentration. Also, different colors or scents will provide varying energies to help you with your goal. Colors are powerful symbols.
Many different belief systems incorporate color into rituals, and candle magic is one way to do so...
red...symbolizing the element Fire and the direction of the South, red is used for strength, physical energy, courage, sex, and passion.
pink...a candle for love spells (remember that these should never be performed against another's will...)also friendship and compassion. Pink is for emotional needs.
yellow...symbolic of the element Air and the direction of the East, yellow provides energy for matters of intellect, divination, travel, and eloquence.
green...symbolizing the element Earth and the direction of the North, use green for prosperity, fertility, employment, growth and healing.
blue... symbolizing the element Water and the direction of the West, blue candles are used for healing, peace, happiness and psychic growth.
purple...use this color for matters of spirituality, power, meditation.
white...associated with the Moon, white is used for protection, purification, divination and is an all purpose candle.
black...use black for banishing negativity, or absorbing it when you feel the need for this.
Also, burn your candles on the days of the week that correspond with your wish.
This helps to bring planetary energies to your goal.
Sunday is ruled by the Sun and yellow candles are used on this day.
Monday is ruled by the Moon...use white candles
Tuesday is ruled by Mars...use red candles
Wednesday is ruled by Mercury...use purple candles
Thursday is ruled by Jupiter...use blue candles
Friday is ruled by Venus...use green candles
Saturday is ruled by Saturn...use black candles
If you wish to add more power to your candle magic, some people anoint the candles with an appropriate oil... but I find this a dangerous practice, it can cause fires, flair ups, and even release toxins into the air...
instead I just add pinches of the herbs on the top of the candle where they will burn and join with the melted wax! Fresh herbs are always much better then pre-made oils and such!
before burning them, always visualize your needs and focus your energy towards that end.
love...rose, apple blossom, gardenia, jasmine, ylang-ylang
sex...cinnamon, patchouli, lavender, clove, musk, vanilla, tuberose
luck...basil, bayberry, vervain
protection...bergamot, cinnamon, cinquefoil, sandalwood
prosperity...mint, basil, vervain, hyssop, bergamot
purification...frankincense, benzoin, sandalwood, myrrh
divination...nutmeg, lemon grass, acacia, lilac, lotus, narcissus
banishing...carnation, rue

Mercury Retrograde Love Dos and Don'ts
This is from Yahoo.com
Mercury is described as going retrograde when it appears to be moving backward through the sky, wreaking havoc on communication, agreements, technology ... and relationships. Survive and thrive during this fleeting three-week period with dos and don'ts that will help make make Mercury Retrograde work for you.
Don't...
Get married! A marriage vow is one of the most important promises you'll ever make. Do you really want to tempt fate by making this promise at a time when promises are easily broken? Even if you have absolute faith in your love, Mercury Retrograde can wreak havoc with the wedding ceremony itself. The justice of the peace may not show up, the caterer's oven could break down or the reception hall might reserve the wrong date. Why subject yourself to the potential hassles?
Do...
Renew your vows. If you're already married, there's no better time to reassert your devotion. Take this opportunity to throw a reception that you can really enjoy; you'll be far more relaxed the second time around. You'll feel less frenzied, so you can chat with friends, savor refreshments and dance the night away!
Don't...
Pursue a crush! You could be bitterly disappointed once Mercury goes direct again. Someone who seems totally fab will be utterly drab in a few short weeks. Whether you're looking through rose-colored glasses or beer goggles, the effect of Mercury Retrograde is the same: skewed vision.
Do...
Bury the hatchet! If you deeply regret breaking up or having a falling out with somebody, now is the time to make amends. You don't necessarily have to reconcile, but Mercury Retrograde will allow you to release deep resentments. If you do reconcile, work to change the behavior that caused the initial breakup. Mercury Retrograde offers a wonderful opportunity to correct past mistakes.
Don't...
Initiate divorce proceedings. If you're truly determined to break off things with your spouse, wait until Mercury goes direct to file papers. Otherwise, your divorce could drag out, taking a heavy toll on your bank account and emotions. Besides, the terms of your breakup should be crystal clear. That won't happen if you start divorce proceedings during Mercury Retrograde.
Do...
Exercise patience with your beloved! If you and your mate have a terrible fight while Mercury is retrograde, it is probably due to a misunderstanding, rather than irreconcilable differences. In the event you part ways, wait until Mercury goes direct and then extend an olive branch. The two of you could pick up and move forward as if the breakup never happened. A word of warning, though: if you want to keep your partnership alive, act as though you're still committed, even though you're "officially" broken up. Engaging in a casual fling while you're on break won't strengthen your long-term prospects.
Don't...
Let a sweet-talking manipulator get the best of you! Mercury Retrograde has a way of weakening your resolve. If you've always distrusted a flirtatious admirer, take extra pains to avoid this person during Mercury's retrograde. Otherwise, you could end up joining bank accounts with this smooth operator, only to have it emptied out once Mercury goes direct...
Do...
Look up a lost love. Mercury Retrograde could help you rekindle the sparks with someone from your past. Of course, if your romantic interest is involved with someone else, keep things platonic. Remember, if somebody leaves their partner for another person, they are apt to do it again. People who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it ... particularly when Mercury is retrograde.
Don't...
Go on a first date. Mercury Retrograde makes it difficult to communicate clearly. Consequently, what you think is a fantastic joke could be interpreted as a terrible insult. Alternately, a serious remark could be taken as a light-hearted quip. Even if you manage to get your ideas across, you could hit traffic on the way to the restaurant, or find that the movie you wanted to see is sold out. Instead of starting off things on the wrong foot, wait until Mercury goes direct to make your initial romantic contact.
Do...
Return to favorite old haunts! If you're already in a relationship, this would be a great time to go back to the restaurant where you went on your first date, or take a second honeymoon at the hotel where you originally stayed. Mercury Retrograde tends to deepen your appreciation for things that have always given you pleasure.

My newest project
I keep my supplies in a large trunk in my bedroom, great storage, but difficult to get at times.... because I keep my doll supplies on top of the trunk.
So, I needed somewhere I could get at the important things, like my cauldrons and herbs... fast.
I found this wood breadbox at the thrift store. 50 cents!!!! A bargain, but the light color wood would stand out on my black dresser... so changes had to be made...
I gave it a light sanding, and then 3 coats of black enamel paint... and there you go! sits on my dresser without standing out, holds all the supplies I use on a daily basis... PERFECT!
I still use the trunk for storage of the things I don't use as often, but now when I need something it's close at hand, and easy to get to.

weird Yule
Our Yule holidays have always been weird!
First, my son.... I usually buy him a video game he asked for.... and if he had to wait till Christmas to open it... he would go nuts.... so I always just give it to him the same day I buy it! He loves it, and never complains, it's just how he wants it.
So, since I gave him his gift at Thanksgiving, I made him give me mine!!! Hay, tit for tat I always say.... so I got this super cute zippo lighter, pink, with a pussy cat on it in disco colors... and the new "Betsy the Vampire Queen" book... that I'm been dying to read for months.
Then I won the contest on http://canwehaveanewwitchoursmelted.blogspot.com/!!!!! A $75 dollar gift certificate at Amazon.com!!!!! WHOOOOOOOHEEEEEE!!!!
Everyone kept telling me, "you know there are more then books at Amazon" but did I care!!!! No, BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!!!! (I know I'm addicted, but I can't stop!!) So I got tons of books!!!!!
I consider that a FANTASTIC Yule gift!!!
Oh, then my Aunt Harriet, in Fla., sent me $50 bucks in a card!!! Ohhhhhh joy, joy, joy.
See, when my son went to school, I gave him my good blanket, cause the dorms were chilly.... So, I've been sleeping with one of those small lap blankets, and my housecoat over it.
I've been warm, but it's a pain to turn over in bed, cause I have to re-arrange the housecoat and lap blanket every time I turn over, and neither one actually covered my feet, so I had to wear socks (hate wearing socks!)
Now you understand, I have a light blanket and a comforter on the bed already, but I sleep with the window open at night, and it just wasn't cutting it, so I added the lap blanket and the housecoat.
But with her gift, I ran to wal-mart, and got myself a nice new blanket! And this one the boy is not touching!!!!
Then my girlfriend Brenda gave me a HUGE gift card for my NeoPets!!!!! She gave it early cause they do special Christmas things that you need to buy a card for, so she gave it to me so I can use it right away! (and I did!)
So, I have to say, so far, I've had a great Yule, weird, but GREAT!!!!!

HA HA
I live surrounded by 4 Military Base's. One of them is a weapons testing station... so lots of times I wake up to BOOM BOOM BOOM!!! My house shakes, I jump, but it goes on all day, so I get used to it after a few times.
That was here on Tuesday. Bombing and large gun fire allllllllll day long!!! So I was shocked to read this in the paper today!!!!
"A minor, underwater earthquake was reported off New Jersey Tuesday.
Police say there are no reports of injuries or damage.
A geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey says the tremor happened about 122 miles east/southeast of New York City about 10:45 a.m.
He said it was a magnitude 3.9, which is considered very minor, especially because it occurred in the Atlantic Ocean. It was felt, however, along the New Jersey and Long Island coasts."
I was sure close enough to feel it, but because of the shaking and bombing... who know one of them was a quake!!!
Like I told my girlfriend yesterday.... world war 3 could start, and I wouldn't have a clue, since the bombing testing goes on and off all week long!!!
I would just assume it was the base again doing their thing!!! LOL But this time I missed an EARTHQUAKE because of them!!!!! RATS!!!

Now this is interesting...very interesting
Since I have so many allergy's, it's always good to find an article on something that I never heard of before. I'm going to try it, if I can find it.... and see if I'm allergic to this too.... Now, I'm hoping not, cause I haven't had it before, but its worth trying!!
Commonly considered a grain, quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a seed which is related to leafy green vegetables such as spinach, chard, and beets. Once considered the “mother seed” of the Incas, this South American native is a nutritional powerhouse, and its wide array of potential culinary uses makes it one of the most practical foods to store in your pantry.
The remarkable thing about quinoa is that it is one of the rare plant-based foods that supplies all nine essential amino acids, including the elusive lysine, making it a complete protein. While food from animal sources almost always contains complete proteins, vegetable sources of protein are most often lacking in one or more essential amino acids. This makes quinoa an excellent option for vegetarians, vegans, and anyone interested in adding non-meat proteins to their diet.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the content and quality of its proteins are outstanding because of their essential amino acid composition and its biological value (the measurement of nutrition the body can absorb) is comparable to casein (milk protein).
Quinoa also boasts one of the highest levels of plant-based iron levels. It's also an excellent source for manganese, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, and fiber. Quinoa is naturally gluten-free, making it a great food for many who follow a gluten-free diet.
Quinoa is available in several colors, most notably red, black, and more commonly, off-white. It is available in many grocery stores, both packaged and in the bulk aisle. If you cannot find it in your supermarket, it should definitely be at your local health food store.
Before cooking quinoa, be sure to rinse it thoroughly to remove any residual resins that might still be on the seeds. Otherwise, it can be quite bitter.
Quinoa can be prepared as simply as couscous -- add it to boiling water or broth and let it sit for several minutes, and then fluff with a fork. That preparation will give you quinoa in its simplest presentation.
This versatile seed can also be served as a breakfast “cereal” – simply add your favorite natural sweetener, along with some cinnamon and berries or chopped apples. It can be added to burritos, salads, a veggie burger or scrambled eggs. It can be sauteed with vegetables or given some kick with Moroccan spices and raisins.
Truly, the options are endless and recipes are easy to find. Here are two to get you started, one savory, one sweet.
Quinoa “Caviar”
Quinoa’s texture has a little “pop” to it that makes it a popular stand-in for caviar; although, of course, it’s really nothing like caviar, it’s still a fun way to use it.
* 1 eggplant
* 1 onion, minced
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1 cup quinoa
* 2 cups water
* Pinch of salt
* 1/2 cup minced fresh herbs (mint, cilantro, or whatever you have on hand)
* 1 tablespoon miso paste (or 2 tablespoons soy sauce)
* 2 tablespoons lemon juice
* Dash hot sauce
Roast the eggplant: Cut in half, drizzle with olive oil, and bake at 425F until white flesh is lightly browned and tender, about 30 minutes.
Saute onions in olive oil until soft. Stir in the quinoa and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add water and salt, then bring to a boil. Cover the pan, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove pot from heat and let stand for 10 minutes; remove lid, let cool, and fluff with fork.
Puree the eggplant with herbs, miso, and lemon and add to quinoa. Add hot sauce and just seasoning. Garnish with remaining herbs.
Vanilla Quinoa Pudding
Quinoa in this application results in a cross between rice pudding and tapioca, with more protein than either.
* 3 cups whole milk (works well with soy or nut milk for a vegan version)
* 1 vanilla bean (split, or 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract)
* 1/4 cup maple syrup
* pinch of salt
* 1 cup quinoa
Rinse quinoa. Mix milk, vanilla, maple syrup and salt in a saucepan and set on simmer. Add quinoa and cook for 30 minutes, stirring frequently (but not constantly).Once thickened, remove from heat and allow to cool. Serve warm, or refrigerate. Top with all kinds of delicious tidbits; berries, dried fruit, nuts, nutmeg, brown sugar, etc.

HE'S BACK AT SCHOOL!!!!!
While I love my son, I'm sooooooo happy he's back in school!!!!
It's so nice while he's away!
I have my privacy, I can shop alone or with a girlfriend, I can eat what I want... and what I want to eat REMAINS in the fridge!!!
I can sit at my computer all DAY if I want... without him walking in and out of my bedroom... saying "what are ya doing???" or "this show is great, let me tell you all about it in complete!!!" or "I'm board, lets go out to eat...shopping...for a ride... to look at games....and so on and so on and so on!!!
Unfortunately, this is only a brief break.... in 4 weeks he'll be home again for Christmas.... and that's for A WHOLE MONTH!!!!
Sigh.... but I guess I have to take the good with the bad, and enjoy my time alone while he's at school, and suffer through the times he's home... after all, he is my baby boy!!!!
But, might I add.... after school is done..... I hope he gets a job FAR AWAY from home!!!!! GIGGLE

Jersey Shore
I was just talking with my sister, about the scummy TV shows on now.... using Jersey and the Jersey shore as their title.
Real Jersey housewives
Jersey shore
and some slimy one about hair dressers!!!!
DO YOU PEOPLE REALIZE THAT THE PEOPLE ON THE SHOWS ARE NOT FROM NEW JERSEY???
They are all transplants from New York, or Staten Island....
but NONE of them are actually born and raised in New Jersey!!!!!!
It's bad enough we have to hear crap about people from Newark, but now they are trying to show the whole of N.J. filled with New York TRASH!!!!!
We DO NOT act like them, we DO NOT look like them!!!! And I'm pissed off they are ruining the reputation of New Jersey by portraying us with those N.Y. scumbags!!!!
Tell it like it is people! Let the people watching this crap that those people aren't real New Jersey people!!!!!

Damn Trolls!!!!!
Still haven't found my prescription sun glass's!!!! I KNOW THEY HAVE THEM!!!! I WANT THEM BACK!!!!!
They are probably planning to sell them on E-Bay!!!
NASTY EVIL LITTLE THINGS
The trolls are coming hear them squealing, running.
Always scheming, while we dream.
Searching out the pretty things!
shiny bobbles, glitter rings
Take them home and horde them now,
let the humans wonder how,
they lost that damn thing anyhow?
Watching Troll's giggling so gay
Play with it, put it back another day

More older spells
Chant this 3 times over:
Open mind, and gain new life,
Gone from you, all stress and strife.
Open heart, gain life anew,
Accept all love that's offered you.
Positive thought and word and deed
Enter now, of bane I'm freed.
Ancients, hear me, grant my plea
To new relationships, open me.
THIS IS FOR THE BAD GNOMES THAT STEAL MY STUFF
Keeper of what disappears,
Hear me now, open your ears.
Find for me what I now seek
By Moon, Sun, Wind, Fire, Earth, and Sea.
A GOOD LOVE SPELL
Venus, Queen of Love, divine
Bring the love to me that's mine.
Perfect, she/he, and perfect, me,
Together we are meant to be.
Venus, Queen of Love, so warm
Bring my love to me without harm.
Let nothing keep us now apart,
Bring perfect love to fill my heart
MONEY SPELL
Place a small bowl or cup in a place you can get to it. Every day add three coins of any denomination, and say"
Trinka five, trinka five
Ancient spirits come alive.
Money grow and money thrive,
Spirits of the Trinka five.
continue each day to you receive the money you need

O Mother Goddess, thank you for the love you show me every day
I see your face in every leaf of every tree, and in the dew on a butterfly's wing.
Thank you for the joys and pains I have experienced,
and will experience, this summer.
O Father God, thank you for all of your gifts.
The gift of sunshine and the gift of rain.
The gift of happiness and the gift of pain.
Thank you for life itself, the most precious gift of all.
My heart is forever with you.
Please keep me faithful in your service

In Memory
In memory of my early blogging, I'm re-posting some stuff from all those years ago. Hope you enjoy them
APATHY
One of the good spells I use is for Apathy. Apathy is when you start not giving a shit. You don't want to go out, do things, basically depression. I suffer from this on occasion, have since I was a child. Don't know the reason, it just comes and goes. I found this quick remedy, a slow working one, but good.
Make a nice hot cup of peppermint tea, either using the bag kind, or fresh dried peppermint. As the tea steeps, lean over the cup and chant:
Add excitement, herb of spice,
Restore my interest in the life.
Indifference, please, now chase away.
Remove this villain now, I say!
Like I said, it works pretty good, but for a sure fire cure for depression, you have to have a cat or dog as a pet.
This is weird, but you have to try it before you laugh at it. When your home alone, make sure your pets in the room with you, shed your clothing, and do a silly dance in front of the animal. Here's some spells for Home and Hearth. This one is a mantra that I say every morning. I just have it typed up and posted on the wall by my computer. I love to read it every morning just for added protection:
By the light and heart of the earth.
I forbid all evil spirits my bedstead and couch.
I forbid you my house and home:
I forbid you my flesh and blood and body and soul.
I irrevocably forbid you entrance to my mind,
and my thoughts.
My fears and my strengths.
until you have traveled over every single hill
and vale:
Forged every stream and river,
counted all the grains of sand on all the shores:
and every star in the sky,
I forbid you!

What's your Fav Color?
Red
What it represents: Ah, the color of passion, anger and high blood pressure. Red is a primal color. It represents primal urges, like lust (“I must have you now!”) and fury (you know the phrase “seeing red,” right?). Yes, red is a commanding color: think of how stop signs get you to halt in your tracks and how you stand back when a red fire engine goes whizzing by.
Understanding people who love it: They act — sometimes without thinking — on immediate desires. In fact, they’re usually the poster children for immediate gratification. It’s up to you if you go for it... or proceed with caution.
Orange
What it represents: OK, orange is not exactly the easiest color to wear and it’s not the most common favorite color, but guess what? Orange is as sensual as it gets. Orange is a mellowed red — and it takes primal, lusty urges and mellows them with a softer vibe. Orange is the color of early attractions, emotional responses, and inner magnetism. Oh, and one other thing: orange is also close to gold, the color of success and wealth.
Understanding people who love it: Someone who likes orange is alive with feelings, the ability to nurture, and can intuit a path to success. If your favorite color is orange, you don’t have an “off” switch when it comes to passion. This is all good stuff, but there’s nothing casual about the connections this kind of person usually forges.
Yellow
What it represents: Yellow is the color of the sun, vitality, power and ego... but it’s not a great indicator of romance. Watch out for self-centered, “me first” energy when someone prefers yellow to the rest of the rainbow.
Understanding people who love it: If yellow is your favorite color, temper your use of the word “I” when you’re interested in someone else. You can come across as too ego-centric otherwise. Now, if you’re dating someone whose favorite hue is yellow, make sure to jump in and share stories about yourself, since this person may not give you much room.
Green
What it represents: Here is the heart of the matter: green is the color of love. (It’s no coincidence that we make our money in the same color...) Green is the color of life and abundance — leaves, grass, plants — it’s all about growing, expanding, and living. So why don’t we give ferns instead of roses on Valentine’s Day? Because green is about expansive, humanistic love and acceptance, not bodice-ripping romance. What’s more, green is a nice-person color, a “do-gooder, be-gooder” kind of color. This person has a warm heart. Passion is probably in there somewhere, buried under their integrity and honor.
Understanding people who love it: If you love green, you put the greater good before your own good — but try a little selfish behavior once in a while.
Blue
What it represents: Blue is a color of clarity, communications and charm. And regardless of the shade, this hue says: “I like to be understood.” On the downside, under stress, a “blue” person can send mixed messages, have trouble making up their mind, or just space out during conversations.
Understanding people who love it: If blue is your favorite color, you never run out of anything to say — expression is your strong suit. And if you’re dating a “blue” person? The same holds true; you should always know where you stand.
Purple
What it represents: Purple evokes the energy of illusion, imagination and fantasy. Or should we say purrrrple? Purple tends to inspire coyness, romance, flirtation and teasing — it builds anticipation with a dash of playfulness. The downside of purple is unrealistic expectations. Is it easier to live in your fantasy world than the real world? Some purple-lovers prefer it.
Understanding people who love it: If you love purple, you can be an imaginative romantic or prefer imaginary romance, depending on how you feel.
White
What it represents: White is light — the combination of all colors. White symbolizes purity (the traditional bridal dress, the christening gown) and spirituality. There’s a simplicity to it, too.
Understanding people who love it: People who love white are probably clean and orderly. While white isn’t the sexiest color, it is certainly healthy.
Black
What it represents: Like white, black is a combination of all colors, but instead of purity, it represents the unknown, the unseen — mystery. Black basically holds back information... but there’s no denying that it has strong associations in our culture with “the dark side” and evil.
Understanding people who love it: If your favorite color is black, you are more hush-hush than high-strung in nature. The silence of this color lets others fill in the blanks. Black says, “I’m not telling you anything.” People who love black can be tough nuts to crack, but quite possibly worth the effort.

Patio Composter
Just because you do patio plants, doesn't mean you can't compost. This is mine.
It's a big empty pot I use every year. I start out by chucking weeds, vegetable cutting (like chopped up celery, potato skins, apple peals) into it all summer long.... and then in the fall....
....I have two big planters that I plant annuals in the spring and summer, plus the ones I plant veggies in, when it comes to fall, I remove the dead annuals and tomato plants, and add soil to the compost pot... and stir, and stir..... Notice my cool shovel, that used to be a soup spoon!
As the fall progresses I add more kitchen scraps, more soil from the annual pots, leaves that I rip and crunch up by hand, and more soil.
The soil in the pot never freezes during the winter, because of the heat caused by composting, so I make sure it stays watered (don't need a hose, just chuck a few glasses of water in it every few days!), and I turn and stir the stuff all fall and winter.
By spring, I have a huge pot of composted, vitamin enriched soil!!!!
Deep, dark and rich!!!!
when spring is here, I add a few scoops of the compost soil to all my permanent planters, and for things like tomatoes, I add half bagged potting soil, and the compost.
And in the fall the cycle starts all over again!!!!
Just because you have a patio, like me, doesn't mean your plants can't be happy, and the soil they grow in rich with organic ingredients.
Plus it's so much easier controlling a small compost pile, then one of those huge ones you need to turn with a pitchfork!!!!
Few words of warning.... NEVER add meat to a compost pile. Not a good thing, plus it will call animals from all over to forage in your yard.
Old eggs, shells and all can be used.
Make sure you chop up your left over veggies, the smaller the chopping, the faster it breaks down.
I keep a Tupperware container next to my sink, and as I cook and chop, I just add the chopped up scraps to the container, and seal the lid.
About once a week I take it outside, empty it into the compost pile, and wash the container and put it back by the sink.
I have a lot of long term plants, like blueberry's, and I never have to re pot them because of the compost added each year. They love it!!! And produce huge bumper crops each year!!!
And the tomato's, I swear I can hear them humming in contentment as I add the compost!
Happy plants make good eating!!!!
PS, that pole you see is an old bamboo pole I use to poke holes in the composted soil. this allows air and water to reach to the bottom of the pot, and it just takes a few jabs with the pole each week to reach the bottom of the pot!

Apple Pie
My Mother always made a fresh apple pie for the holidays.
And even though she was a die hard Catholic, (wicca was from my fathers side... yes, men are witch's too!!)
She would always start her apple pie, by coring and then slicing the first apple to go into the pie, putting the apples in a large glass bowl... and say:
1st slice for happiness, that grows on a tree
2nd slice for true love, may it always follow me
3rd slice for health, disease free
4th slice for peace flowing like tea
5th slice for appetite, calories flee
and 6th slice for Patience to always follow me
Then she would finish slicing the apples, and add the sugar to sweeten the spell.
And bake her pie.
I always wondered why she said it, since she did not believe in my fathers craft... but you know, sometimes what others do, and say rubs off on you in a good way!

Quick and Easy
I love doing spells, but sometimes they can be a drag!
You have to be alone for a while, you have to cast a circle, the way you dress, and say the spell has to be just right!
How many Witch's have the time for that???
Between kids, phones ringing, hubby's, and all the many distractions that life brings.... when do you have time to do all of this and still have a sacred time to do spells??
This was taught to me by my Grandfather. Quick and easy.... just the preparation takes time.
Go buy a fat, short candle. Nice and big, but not tall. Take time to think about the spell you want cast.... and then shorten the spell.
Ex: a spell to find a new job can be long... and rhyming can be a pain... so take the main idea of the spell. IE: new job, happy, good pay.... etc.
And using a pin or another sharp object, write those words around the bottom of the candle about a 1/2 inch from the bottom.
Once you get this part sorted out, and it takes a while to be sure of what you going to say...... the concentration you put on the spell to shorten it, and then engrave it into the candle... is your will... you've actually cast the spell, but it's dormant still.
Now, on your dresser, or alter or where ever it's safe.... cast a small circle.. just big enough to fit the candle in... depending on the size of the candle, 10 inch's should be fine.... easy to cast such a small circle.....
You can do this just by putting a ring of salt around the candle, and envisioning the casting of a circle.
Fast, easy, done.
Now each day, at a time you pick, even more then once a day.. you can do it 3 or four times a day...(but only keep the candle lit for an hour at a time!!).... reach into the circle, and light the candle... saying:
I cast this spell.... as I will, so mote it be!
Then walk away.
The burning of the candle engraved with the spell will automatically keeps casting the spell for you over and over and over.
When the candle burns down to almost nothing.... the spell will be cast!!!
This may take a few days, but because your casting it over and over, the spell will be 10 times stronger then if you just do it once!!!!
And no mess, no fuss, you don't have to sit there with it.
But just be sure it's in a secure location, and a safe one.... no need to burn down your house..is there? GIGGLE

Still going.... damn my Mothers brain!!!!
I thought that after I finished cleaning the house, and purifying it for the winter... that I was done!
But, NO, the cleaning frenzy continues.
This happens every winter and spring.... I always blame my Mom for it, I think it's something she installed in my genes!!!
This morning the kitchen faced my wrath!!!!
And even though it tried to run screaming from my cleaning.... it failed to make it out the front door.... and was scrubbed, sprayed, and polished within an inch of it's life!!!!
I'm not talking normal cleaning.... I'm talking washing down the walls type of cleaning!!!
Sigh.... at least it will soon be over, cause there isn't much left in the house I haven't scrubbed like a mad woman!!!!

I'm so tired of people who.....
I'm so tried of people who no longer keep the old Christmas traditions alive!!!
I love sending out Christmas cards!!!!! I love picking them out, and taking the time to address them, and send them in the mail!!!
I love getting them!!!!! The ones I get I use to decorate my house!!!
But, people, now a days, are so DUMB! They give up the old traditions!!!! Why???
Today I went out and bought my cards, and signed them, and addressed them and stamped them to send out after thanksgiving. I feel it's special, and lets my friends and family know I still care, and love them......
But most of them won't return the favor!!!!
My sister was screaming at me over the phone, "I'm not sending cards this year, so don't send me one!!!"
Well, you know what.... FUCK YOU!!! I'M STILL SENDING THEM OUT!!!!
And if you send me a computer card... I'M NOT GOING TO OPEN IT!!!!
Take the time people, to keep the old traditions, and send out a pretty card to those you love..... believe me, it's worth it!! No matter how lazy they have become!!!
And any of my lady's out there want a card.....
e-mail me at witchbythesea@gmail.com, with your address..... And I'll send one out to you too!!!!
They have kitty's on them this year!!!!!

Winter sleep
The figs, this being their first year staying out side for the winter, are all wrapped up in their winter coats. Next year I think I'm going to put them in the ground, instead of pots, because they are growing too big!
The small Fairy town of Herbage... that is situated between the Chive forest, and the peppermint valley... is covered in mulch for the winter. Even Fairy's have to keep warm.
And the pond lays deserted and leaf covered in the fall sunshine. When I went to empty it, I found the fish that lived there during the summer months had DISAPPEARED! I fear a cat or just hungry fairy's got the poor dear. I'll add more in the spring.
