So, this morning I HAD to hit the grocery store, or Merlin would be starving..... and that's a bad thing....GIGGLE
I left the house at 7am, figuring it was too early for most of them, and I was right!!! The store was almost empty, I ran, grabbed the stuff I needed and then ran up to the "10 item or less" register.
Only 2 old men in front of me!!!!!! YIPPPPPPIE The first had a few things, but the guy in front of me had only a box of muffins.
Well the nice, patient cashier rang up the first guy...... and when he was done, the old guy proceeded to pull out of 4 DIFFERENT POCKETS.... tons and tons of change!!!!!!! Then he stepped back, and made the cashier hunt thru all that change and add it all up .......... to pay his bill!!!!!!!!
20 MINUTES OF COUNTING CHANGE!!!!!!
Now I've been there before, where it's the end of the month and all I have is some change to buy stuff, but this was a LOT of stuff, over $30 dollars that the poor cashier had to hunt for and find!!!!!!
If you have that much change.... take it to the bank, and get the paper money!!!!!
FINALLY, he was done, and proceeded to walk out... WITHOUT HIS GROCERY'S!!!! The Cashier had to run out of the store with the bags and grab him!!!! SIGH
Down to the last guy..... just a box of muffins...... Already on line for almost 45 minutes... with just the two of them in front of me........
AND PRESTO, the guy with the muffins, proceeded to go thru his pockets, pulling out change, by the hand full. ARRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Needless to say, by then I wanted to reach out and strangle that asshole.... and the bad thing was that when I got on line, I did the NICE thing, and let him go before me.... because he had only one item!!!!!
I NEED A NEW GROCERY STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a women really means
Words Women Use on Men
(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' .... that will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever: Is a women's way of saying up yours!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to 3.

I HATE grocery stores!!!
Right now I'm measuring out Merlin's cat food, by dribs and drabs...... yes, he's running out, and that means I have to go to SHOP RITE to get some more.
Why SHOP RITE? It's the closest. To go to Shop and Stop I have to go almost to the bridge, and Food town, just plain sucks.
But going to SHOP RITE, is even WORSE!!!! It's always filled to the brim with old people!!!! Masses, and masses of them. Walking R E A L SLOW! Stopping in the middle of isles, and not moving!
Blocking the whole store with their carts and walkers..... and then when you finally get to check out........... Oh GODDESS ARE THEY FUCKING SLOW!!!! And they argue that coupons 20 years old are still good, and they count out change one tiny penny at a time!!!!
IT'S FIGGING AGGRAVATING!!!!!
All I need is ONE BAG OF CAT FOOD!!!! And I can guarantee, with the bus loads of senors that are dropped off there, that I'll take me at least an hour or two..... just to get that one bag of cat food!!!!!
So, I'm putting it off, and hoping Merlin eats slow! Sigh, but I'm going to have to do it sooner or later...... maybe later..... much later..... sorry Merlin.

The beauty within
Now this is a real Ball Joint Doll. She's much bigger then Jinx, and made of resin, not plastic. She is a STAR!!!! Steph brought her along, and she loved my garden, and posing with all the pretty green things!
Someday I'll get one like her, but that's a long way away, since she's expensive.... but for now.... I love my Jinxie. GIGGLE
But someday........ sigh

Busy weekend
Steph came over this weekend, and we had a welcome home party for Jinx..... I'm exhausted!!!!! Not from what Steph and I did, but from trying to keep our little people out of trouble!!!! But we failed.... Hay, we have to sleep some time, and they don't!!!!
We tried to supervise them, but they were having soooooo much fun, it was impossible.
But on a good note, Spike from Buffy came also, and Jinx and he hit it off big time.... romance is in the air! GIGGLE
Besides tiny little beer bottles and clothing were strewn all over my living room. Did you know condoms came in doll size..... coooooool!
I'm glad they had a good time. Because Steph and I had a nice time too.

My YUCKY patio
This is a picture of my YUCKY PATIO!!! Being in the shade most of the day, over the past 5 years it's gotten progressively disgusting. Mold, Mildew, and who knows what else!!!
I tried to borrow a pressure washer from Barb, but she couldn't be bothered bringing it over.... guess it's too much trouble for her.
But calling me in the middle of the day to run up to north Brunswick, so she can get a fire pit home in my car.... Hay, that's no trouble at all.
Well, I Finialy borrowed one from the guy down the street. Yippppeeeeeee
This is my patio AFTER!!!!! CLEAN, SPARKLING!!!! WONDERFUL!!!!! I have to get one of those for myself!!!!!! It's well worth the expence!!!!

Humming birds
Ahhhhh, Hummingbirds..... the most delicate, beautiful birds in the world. That's why I put up hummingbird feeders in my yard. To watch them flutter silently while sipping the sweet nectar.
But, I bet you didn't know, that hummingbirds can SCREAM like BANSHEE'S when they are fighting with other hummingbirds!!!!!! Did you?????
Well I found that out while sitting peacefully watching them, and then an intruding hummingbird dared to enter the yard!!!!
They SCREAMED, and SWOOPED, AND BUZZED AROUND LIKE ANGRY BEE'S!!!! Holly Shit!!!!!
I headed indoors till the shouting match was done!!!!!
GEEEEEEEEEZE! Talk about busting a bubble!!!!!

My new Dollie is here!!!!!!!
I have now entered the world of BJD's (or Ball Joint Dolls) My new little girl arrived this morning!!!!!!
I would like to introduce "Jinx"
"Hi everyone" she shouts and waves.
And NO, get it out of your head that this is one of the expensive dolls!!!!
Jinx is only 12 inches tall, she has panted eyes, and she only cost $6.99!!!! But she is fully articulated, with all the joints of the more expensive dolls.
Unfortunate, she can't wear barbie clothing, because she has a regular figure, much more proportioned then barbie, and big boobs too!! GIGGLE
Hay, everyone has to start somewhere, don't they???
I do love her!!!!
Steph picked out the name, and I think it fits her.
Think of her as my "training" doll. When I can afford the more expensive ones, I'll go for it, but for now.... Jinx is perfect!

Gardening work this morning
YIKES!!!!!!! I thought I would go out early this morning while it's still COOL.....But NO FUCKING WAY IT WAS COOLER!!!! This heat is just brutal, humid, and UNENDING!!!!! But, I still went out and cut off the nice bunch of Jalapeno pepper's I grew on a tiny plant. I cut them up and froze them for later.
Then I went and plucked the Basil.... both pineapple and lemon basil, and they are in the sink draining.... being prepared for freezing also.
It's always nice to freeze things for the winter. This winter I'll open the package of basil and enjoy the scent of summer.... and also make yummy tomato sauce!!!
This morning I also sliced up some of the extra, totally abundant, eggplant and froze them for winter consumption too.
Of course, right now, I'm hanging over the aircondioner vent, panting, and trying to get cool air into my lungs.
Goddess!!!!! Please let this unending heat end soon!!!!!!!

The best part of summer
July is the best part of summer. Most of the flowers are still in bloom, those that look sooooo pretty will be dead in the August heat, but for now, very pretty!!!!
My lavender and Rosemary bloom in July, and the pansy's, while now struggling with the heat, still look pretty good.
But all in all, it's been a HORRID July. Sweltering heat, major HUMIDITY!!!!! But that's how it goes. Some years the weather can surprise you major. In my years, I have noticed, that when July is HOT HOT HOT, usually August is MUCH cooler.
We will see though. I have to admit that while sitting in side in the air conditioning, I am thinking fondly about Fall, the cool crisp nights, and warm days..... SIGH......
GIGGLE I waited SO LONG for the summer, it's a shame it's spoiled by all this humidity.
I can take the heat, but when you go outside and it feels like your breathing underwater...... that I can't take!!!!
Still, I look at the pretty flowers, and shudder slightly thinking about the cold weather coming....... wish there was a place to live that was always.... summer, spring and fall.... but NEVER winter. GIGGLE

I GOTZ THEM!!!!!!
The first tomatoes and eggplants of the year!!!! Cool!!!!
The eggplants are a Japanese brand that stay long and thin.
I, of course, waited to pick them till they were a bit big.... but when smaller they are very, very, very sweet! Unlike the regular eggplants that tend to be bitter and hard skinned. The skin stays soft on these and they fry up perfectly!!!!!
The tomatoes, well, I have no idea what brand they are! The name was missing, so I just planted them. They look pretty good though. And all around them you may think are weeds, but it's not ...... it's pineapple and lemon basil. What better companion plant to tomatoes?

Shore Leave
Ahhhhhh, I had to take a salt bath to clear my aura, and a few days to let the rest of my resentment flow away before I report on shore leave.
FIRST the good things
As you can see from the picture above our patio door wasn't sealed. We had the last room on the pool side, and it was nice! The door opened right up, and we could sit and smoke and enjoy.... while most of the other rooms didn't open, and people were very jealous of ours. And while I'm being bad.... it was fun!
I had a nice time over all. The weather was fine, and I got to get to the pool at least twice, and the hot tub once. Relaxing.
And then the convention people put our table next to the BIGGEST WITCHCRAFT STORE IN VA!!!!! But even that was good, because they had really COOL stuff, and I enjoyed talking to them!!!
I did sell some stuff, but not a huge amount. The people just weren't there! It was pretty lame the amount of people there...... if there was another convention going on at the same time...... or just that people were losing interest in Star Trek, I don't know.... but it was a very quiet con.
And not ONE GOTH PERSON!!!!! Were they were, I have no idea, but usually they mob the con, and they were all missing.......I only sold 2 pieces of piercing jewelery!!!!
Now the bad part. When I got home, I checked my stock list, and LOTS of stuff was missing!!!!!!! You have to understand... I NEVER left the table unattended!!!!
If I was getting lunch, or smoking, Eileen was there. So where did all the stuff go?????? I have no idea
But I've cleansed it, and it's gone..... my aura is calm now.
But this is the last convention.
But, good again, I have a list of OTHER cons, and I may try selling at them... why not, it's worth a try!
My sister

I'M READY!!!!!
OK, I'm ready, at least I think I am.
Got my stuff to sell all packed, priced and ready in the cart.
Got most of my suitcase packed. (how hard it is to pack 1 pair of slacks and some tops.... geeeeze)
Found my driving directions to Shore Leave (you think.... after once a year for 30 years!!!!!! I would remember!!!!!!!! Not a chance!!!!)
All I need to do is hit the bank for gas money..... and then make my food for the trip.... Just some salads and stuff to bring with me since I know what they have there, and most of it I can't eat...... and I'm done......
Not terribly enthusiastic, as usual, but I'm going anyway.
Hopefully the first time selling was a learning experience, and I've got what people will buy this year.
But either way, I think it's my last year...... all my friends have moved away, and/or stopped coming, so it's getting kind of boring.
What fun is a convention, when I don't have anyone to "play" with????? Sigh

well fucking "A"
NOW I know why!!!!!!!!!
Hereditary Condition Turns People Who Drink Red
'Asian Flush' Syndrome More Common With Asian Americans
Reporting
Dr. Max Gomez NEW YORK (CBS) ― Many people enjoy an occasional glass of wine, beer or cocktail. Doctors even say that moderate drinking appears to be good for you, but what if even a little bit of alcohol, in a drink or medications caused you to turn bright red?
This strange problem often leads to unnecessary medical treatment.
The hereditary genetic problem affects a particular ethnic group far more frequently, even though they themselves often have not even heard of it - but it's common enough that it's been dubbed the 'Asian Flush.'
Alcoholic drinks have always been a part of human cultures, but some people don't react well to alcohol. And then there are those who really can't drink.
"I turn purple," said Han Kao. "Certain alcoholic products make me actually turn purple."
"I actually start to get flushed right here and here," said Jarred Yoshida, pointing to his neck and cheeks. "I start to feel it all over my head."
Besides their reaction to alcohol, Yoshida and Kao also share an Asian heritage. Kao is Korean and Yoshida is Japanese.
Yoshida thought he was the only one with this problem.
"Then I went to Japan for a year and then I started to notice everyone else not being able to hold their alcohol and that's when I thought this is not about me, this is probably something very genetic," he said.
His suspicions were correct.
"About 50 percent of Asian Americans as well as Asians throughout the world may be affected by Asian Flush syndrome. What it really is, is the difficulty in the body breaking down alcohol - products cause of a genetic trait where they have difficulty metabolizing alcohol," said Dr. Clifford Basset of the Long Island College Hospital.
Dr. Bassett said Asian Flush syndrome can also cause nausea, light-headedness and drowsiness after even the small amount of alcohol in some medications. Plus some people get mistakenly diagnosed with other conditions.
"You may be treated for skin conditions such as rosacea, flushing syndrome, panic attacks, a variety of situations," said Dr. Basset.
Kao has learned that certain drinks affect him much more than others.
"I just try to avoid those products and certain other ones it's alright, so if I'm a little red people understand I'm a phenomenon," he said.
Yoshida has to avoid alcohol altogether, which has a silver lining.
"It's saved me tons of money; it's made me not abuse my liver or my body. I've never been hung over in my entire life because I don't drink," boasted Yoshida.
And since he's always the designated driver, Yoshida gets his friends to buy him an occasional meal or dessert.
Alcohol is like a toxin for people with Asian Flush. Even though it is genetic, not all members of a family have the gene-type that keeps them from metabolizing alcohol properly.
