It was very, very scary!!!!

Wind and rain, evacuations, and flooding... but morning light is here and my home, and I, are in one piece!!!!! No damage to report!

Living here at the Jersey Shore can be exciting at times!!!!

Crazy summer

This has been one nutso summer.... the weather went from....to hot to breath, to wet wet wet and chilly at night, to WEIRD!!!!

Didn't even get to the beach, cause we had, sharks, stingrays, weird jelly fish thingies, and now an algae bloom.... good summer to stay away from the water!!!!

And I was out almost single day since the "Boy" decided to change his look for school...(I guess the ripped jeans got too ripped) and he wanted to go clothing shopping EVERY SINGLE FREAKING DAY!!!!

(for those of you not in the know... The Boy doesn't drive, having only one eye he's afraid to drive, so guess who gets to drive him all over the place?? that's right!)

But, gotta tell you, he's looking fine!!!! Haven't seen him out of the same clothing in 10 years!!!! What is it with men? Really?

He even bought himself a coat!!!!

Yes, a real coat!!! Not a hoodie, or a ski jacket, or a duster....
but a botany 500 wool coat!!!! Amazing!!!!

Then we had an earthquake!!!!! F'n A!!!! Scared the shit out of me!!!

I actually thought I was having some kind of stroke when I felt everything moving!!!!

It wasn't till I got up and turned around, and saw the water in the fish tank sloshing over the edges... that I realized it WASN'T me stroking out!!!!!! Once I realized I wasn't stroking out, I was vastly amused by it!!!

New Jersey doesn't have earthquakes (hence the thought I was having a stroke!)!!!!!!

Thank the Goddess for facebook, I was able to go one and check all my friends...most important was my best friend who lives in VA!!!! I was really worried about him!

Now we are getting ready for a Hurricane!

Mother Nature must be really pissed.... but the good thing is that it's summer!!!! Hurricanes in the winter are called Nor'easter... and it means major SNOW!!!! I'd rather have rain!!!!

And I have only 3 days left with the boy home!!!! (DOING THE HAPPY DANCE...NAKED!!!)
At least if I can convince him to stop playing video games and get to packing.

Then when he's gone..... dum dum dum... I have JURY DUTY!!! Not some nice local one... but Federal Court in Trenton.... that's like an hour away!!!! They say 2 weeks!!!

I have to admit though that I've NEVER had Jury duty before... Why? I have no clue, just never got called.... in all these years!!!

So I'm sorta looking forward to it... sorta... don't like the hour drive, but I just have to put on my big girl pantie's and suck it up! A little excited, but scared at the same time... I'm not good with NEW things. I like my old regular routine! LOL

As soon as all of this is over, and the dust settles, I'm going to have the drawing of the give-away.... so If you haven't entered yet... HURRY UP!!!

Sometimes it's difficult to tell what's in some tasty-looking dishes at potluck gatherings. An ingredient may be used only for seasoning, but sometimes just a trace of it is all it takes to trigger a reaction. That's why I have established a practice that has always been well-received. I print out a card to attach to the dish I brought. On it I name the dish and list the ingredients.

Things I do, when the boy is at school!!!

THE OLD CRONE IS GOING TO BE ALONE!!!!


Just 12 more days till "the boy" is back at Rutgers..... and I was sitting and thinking about the summer, and about all the things I can do, and NOT do, when the boy goes back to school!!!!





1. I don't use the dishwasher. I eat, wash my plate, and put it away. when he's home I sometimes run the dishwasher 2 times a day!





2. My refrigerator with be CLEAN!!! No piles of leftovers, and stuff that's never used. When I'm alone, I eat what I buy, and buy in portions just right for one meal.





3. I can use the washer and dryer! When he's home, one or the other ALWAYS has clothing in it!!!! And I either have to remove it, or make him do it. I want to wash when I want to wash!!!





4. I can leave my bedroom and bathroom door open!!! AT THE SAME TIME!!!! when he's home I always have to be careful since he quickly knocks and enters without waiting for me to say "come in" Drives me nuts!!!





5. I can keep the TV LOUD!!!!!! He's always telling me to turn it down cause he's reading. I'm DEAF PEOPLE, I NEED MY TV LOUD TO HEAR IT!!! Grrrrrrrr





6. I can go out to the store, anytime I want, without waiting for him to get dressed to come with me! And he always wants to come with me!!!!! Cause he's bored!!!!





7. I can talk on the phone without someone asking me, "who was that?, was that for me?, how many times a day to you talk to Barb?" or having to tell my friends I'll call them back cause he gets a phone call about school or work.





8. I can sit, NAKED, on the sofa to watch TV!!! ( I actually don't do that, but I could if I wanted to!!! giggle)





9. My house will be CLEAN! I clean it once a week, and it will stay that way. Not like when he's home and the dish's pile up in the sink, and there is a trail of crumbs from the kitchen to his room.





10. And most important, when I leave the house clean, I will come back to the house.... STILL CLEAN!!!!
