allergys!

Benadryl is gooooooodddddd! Not only rids me of allergy's...... but makes me soooooo mellllllow!

2 weeks

Here I am two weeks later. Now the Dr. said that the first treatment would show a tiny bit of improvement... and it has!

I've noticed that 2 lesions are gone, and the rest has shrunk, maybe not in size.... but in depth.

They aren't as puffy as before. Still pink, and some scabs, but now makeup will cover it up, and I don't feel like a monster in public!

Would I have done it if I knew it would take 2 FREAKING WEEKS to look almost normal????

Can't say if I would have...... but I WILL be going back for the next two treatments!

The next one is 23 days from Shore Leave, so knowing it's taken 2 weeks to heal up..... I'm cool with it.

I should look fine for Shore Leave!

Will it be worth it in the end? Won't know till it's over, but I have faith!

HAPPY MEMEORIAL DAY!

Bird bath

When my Mom passed I snatched up this old cement birdbath she had in the back yard for as long as I can remember..... and that's a lllllloooooonnnnnnggggg time! Giggle

It didn't hold much water, and the water it held became bright red in days! But I loved the tree design so I put dirt in it and planted a creeping perennial, that loves the sun!

It's pretty cool how it formed a canopy on top of the birdbath, taking on the persona of a tree!

I feel the Goddess was saying....."this is my home!"

You don't need land to grow stuff!!!

The pot I painted black around my light post is going nuts! The sedum is over 8 years old and will soon bloom..... along with the chives and pansy's I planted for color!

As you can see the "Pink" time is over for the front of the house, now the honeysuckle is blooming bright orange, and soon the orange tiger Lily's will be blooming too!

That teenie tiny Gogi Berry bush is flourishing!!!!! From a 1 inch plant to this in just a few short months!

The "Witch's Broom" was mislabeled once again, and I got orange instead of pink!!!! But it's so pretty, I don't care!

My tomato plants..... started inside during the winter, are doing fantastic.

And the blueberry's are super this year! I'm going to have to make Jam!!!

The Strawberry's in the cauldron are getting HUGE!!! I've already pick mega sweet red strawberry's! The lavender surrounding the cauldron is about to bloom. And you can see the gooseberry's (upper left) is hale and hardy this year. On the right is Peony's, Iris's, and more tiger Lily's!

You don't have to have a huge yard to grow stuff.

I love my little garden!!!!

ahhhh, dreaming.... only dreaming

Spell Binding

SPELL BINDER

This is best used at the end of a spoken or written spell.
This adds a certain boost to the releasing of energy.
It also works best if you are wearing a Pentagram you have attuned to yourself.
Speak these word with all the fibers of your body while releasing the spell's energy:

By the Pentagram I wear,
Water, Fire, Earth, and Air,
Ruled by Spirit as All should be
As I speak So Mote It Be!

A GENERAL CHARGE FOR SPELL WORK

The following chant is a good all purpose chant that can be used for just about any spell

Witches power burning bright, tarot, rune and blade,
Charge the spell, enfilled with might, here and now the magic's made.
Wave and tree, hedge and flame, strength of the elements gather here,
to bless this work and charge it well, to complete the spell now far or near.
Mystic Moon and Brilliant Sun, send your power here this way,
Gracious Lady, Mighty Lord, bless this charge that I lay.
Powers that are, powers that be, gather round this spell I cast,
empower my working three times three, send it forth to see it last! So Shall it Be!

Wishing Magic!

SPELL TO GET WHAT YOU WISH FOR

Take a horse shoe and put it around a red candle.
Put the candle in a darkened room in the middle of a table.

Write what it is you want on a piece of paper with a quill pen dipped in black ink.

Chant the following as you write:

What I want I write here
Please take my dream and bring it near
What I want Is What I should get
Let all my dreams Now be met

Now take the paper and fold it in a square of four creases .
Hold it over the candle with a pair of tweezers and let it burn.

Picture yourself with your wish fulfilled as you burn the paper send waves of love
at the image you conjure of your self.

SPELL TO SHOW YOU HOW TO GRANT ANY WISH

Four or six bananas
Palm butter
Red cotton thread or wool/yarn
Parchment or brown paper
Red ink or Dove's Blood ink
Quill Pen

Start this spell on a Friday.
Buy a banana bunch in the name of Chango. (say to yourself at the register... I buy these banana's in the name of the God Chango)

Write your wish on parchment and fold toward you.

Slip paper to fit tightly between bananas.

Rub palm butter on bananas.

Wrap banana bunch with red string or yarn until you can no longer see the folded paper.

Hang banana bunch on a nail outside or inside by your front door. (outside is better, fruit flys you know!)

By the time the bunch is black and withered you will have your answer or your wish granted.

THE WISHING WELL

Take any large bowl.
Drip a few drops of different colored candle wax in the bottom of the bowl, then
adhere a white candle to that spot.

The different colors represent diverse needs and goals, while the white binds
this variety together in harmony.

Each morning, light the candle when you get up and put a coin in the bowl.

Make your wish for the day. Blow out the candle before you leave the house.

Whenever you desperately need to have a wish fulfilled, remove a coin from the bowl

and either plant it in rich soil (houseplants will do ) or throw it into moving water so that your message of need will be carried through the earth.

When the bowl is filled with coins, use all but a few (these "seeds" always remain in your bowl) for random acts of kindness, like getting treats for the neighborhood kids or helping a homeless person.

Your generosity will return to you threefold to keep the magic of benevolence, both
mundane and divine, with you always.

walking alone

As she slid beneath the waters
Her tail tightly curled.

The mermaid watched in sorrow,
the end of the world.

Soft sea's, again, claimed her.
And In her tears, and sorrow deep,

flowed the salt of all the Oceans,
as she saw the world weep.

But the mermaid's secret power once again
calmed her soul, and let her be.

for in the cold deep oceans
spring the tides of eternity

JO

I went for a walk down the beach yesterday........ at least the last one WITHOUT the Bennie's coming for the summer!!!

It was so peaceful, and warm, and the water is so clear. I know that after this weekend it's going to be a giant madhouse with all the summer people...... but for the day, it was wonderful!!!

I was the only one on the beach, except for a fisherman who was doing the deep sea thingie, and the seagulls. I walked along, gathered shells, and smelled the ocean. SIGH

Major relaxation.

Now this weekend starts the summer thingie, and all the people will be crowding down here, but it's still not bad. I like laying on the beach with other people there. Though peaceful, still kinda spooky to be all alone out there. GIGGLE

Next week, all the arcades and games will be open 24/7. During the winter most of the arcades are open, but not many of the games..... and I do LOVE trying to win a box of candy, or a stuffed doggie. And all the rides will be open too, and the food places!!!!! Yippie!

And cool news, right on the boardwalk where I get on...... Hamilton Avenue, they put a DUNCAN DONUTS! Right on the middle of the boardwalk!!!! COFFEE GOOD!

I'm all set for the summer. I have a new beach bag, first time for a beach umbrella, bunches of bathing suits, so I'm all set to toast into a deep dark tan!!!

Once the rush of Memorial Day weekend is over, it will return to a nice quieter pace. Lots of people, yes, but not the mad rush like over the holidays!!!!

I've also got my crabbing nets all ready, so I'm set for some yummy crabs all summer. Hopefully this season will be better than last summer! Usually if you don't catch much crabs one year, the next year they are huge!!! So, here's hoping!!!!

WELCOME SUMMER, I AM READY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!

Mmmmmm

Not being able to eat potatoes (allergy's) I sometimes crave something of the same Constancy, and real close to the taste or them.

In England they make this all the time with meals, it's called "mashies" And it's made with peas!

You can use any type of peas, but (though it would send most cooks shrieking into the night!) canned peas are the best.

You put them in a bowl, and mash the shit out of them!

Then you add sour cream..... crumbled bacon.... and butter.... and stir it all up, and heat it!

When it's nice and hot, add another pad of butter on the top.... AND YUMMMMMM!

I know people who say they "HATE PEAS" that munch this down like crazy.

Don't like the green? Close your eyes! giggle

Day 3

Most of the swelling is gone, except first thing in the morning. Now I'm just all scabby!!! Yuck!

Thank the goddess for sunglasses!!!!!

Taking you with me!!!!

I'm taking you with me thru a weired journey. Figure I'll let you know what's going on with me. This is what I look like without my glass's!

I have large growth's on and around my eyes. The yellow skin pockets you see.

Now fair warning, the below pictures are without any makeup!!!! I don't look good without makeup!!!! BELIEVE ME!

Now with makeup, and my tinted glass's this is what I look like.

But you know it's a pain to keep up appearances..... and at times when I have to take off my glass's.... it sucks!

So I went to a dermatologist. And he's removing them. It'll take 3-4 treatments, then they will be gone.

I went yesterday for my first treatment,

I kept putting it off.... well, cause I'm a CHICKEN!

And I hate to say it but I WAS RIGHT TO BE A CHICKEN.

IT HURT!!!! BURNED!!!

What they do is put on an ACID on your skin, and wipe it off.

It burns going on.... and keeps burning for like 4 hours..... everywhere the acid goes, you turn WHITE!

I mean really white white!

Then it's better...... but the next day.... I'M MAGA SWOLLEN!!! I can bearly see, because of the swelling, so cold compresses all day for me.

Now I still need more treatments, and I can't see how it looks yet cause it's still so swollen.....

am I going to go for a next treatment?????

Right now.... NO! But maybe in 4 weeks, when my next appointment is, I'll forget about it, and go.

I'll let you know, and post pictures as I go.

Fetish??

I think my doll fetish is taking hold of me!!!! I'm seriously thinking of adding this one to the two I already have!

What would I name her??? I already have Mortica and Ophilla??? Hummmmmm

OK, Creeped out now!!!!

Totally creeped out now... what if this fungus could attack people, maybe this is where the stories of Zombie's comes from????

How Zombie Ants Lose Their Minds

Wynne Parry, LiveScience Senior Writer,

New gruesome details have emerged explaining how a parasitic fungus manipulates an unfortunate ant, filling its head with fungal cells and changing its muscles so the ant can grab a leaf in a death grip just when and where the fungus wants it.

Research in a Thai rain forest has shown the fungi, a species of Ophiocordyceps, forces an infected ant to wander drunkenly over the forest's low leaves before clamping its jaws around the main vein on the underside of a leaf in an ant zombie graveyard. [Mind Control: Gallery of Zombie Ants]

By watching 16 infected ants bite down, the researchers found that their last bites took place around noon, indicating they are synchronized to either the sun or a related cue, like temperature or humidity.

"Synchronized arrival of zombie ants at the graveyards is a remarkable phenomenon. It adds a layer of complexity on what is already an impressive feat," wrote David Hughes, a study researcher from Pennsylvania State University, in an email to LiveScience. "However, although ants bite at noon they don't in fact die until sunset. Likely this strategy ensures (the fungus) has a long cool night ahead of it during which time it can literally burst out of the ant's head to begin the growth of the spore-releasing stalk"

The bizarre sequence that leads up to the ant's death is completely out of step with its normal behavior and appears to be a way for the fungus to get itself to the perfect spot to spread its spores, according to the researchers.

The ants, a species called Camponotus leonardi, live in the canopies of trees, but come to the ground occasionally, where they contract the fungus. Healthy ants travel on trails unlike infected ones, which zigzag in a drunken walk over low vegetation, sometimes falling and convulsing before taking their final bite.

Hughes and colleagues observed a total of 42 infected ants, some of which they dissected. While holding its death grip, the ant's head was filled with fungal cells and the muscles that operated the ant's mandible, or jaw, was atrophied, they found.

"In the context of biting, it allows the mandibles, we feel, to work in one direction and one direction only," Hughes told LiveScience. "Normally, they open and close, but in this case they can only close."

This keeps the dying ant from losing its grip. The fungus also appears to suck all of the calcium out of the muscles, causing a condition similar to rigor mortis, he said.

Fungi have been observed to manipulate the behavior arthropods as well, including crickets, bees, wasps and perhaps even spiders.

"We are quite confident we could see this and similar phenomenon across a broad range of organisms, because it is such a neat evolutionary trick if you are fungus to use the muscles of an animal to transport you to another environment," he wrote. (Many fungi rely on wind or other means to passively disperse their spores.)

More broadly, many parasites -- be they plant, animal or virus -- can alter the behavior of their hosts.

In the most recent study, published in the journal BMC Ecology, Hughes and colleagues observed and examined healthy and infected ants to compare their movements and reveal the physiological effects of the fungus. In a previous study, published in 2009, they found that the fungus manipulates infected ants to take it to ideal places for it to reproduce in the forest understory. As result the dead ants wound up on leaves on the north-northwestern side of plants approximately 9.8 inches (25 centimeters) above the ground.

Lavender time!!!

I just spent a hour or two cleaning out my lavender bed. Giving it a trim, removing leaves and garbage... all the time feeling like a cat with catnip.... I just wanted to rub it alllllll over myself!!!

So, I thought to re-print some of my bath spells using lavender. Hope you enjoy!

A MAGIC CLEANSING RITUAL

1 tbls bicarbonate soda 5 drops essential oil juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp. good oil, such as sweet almond ½ cup sea salt
Stir the soda, essential oil, lemon juice and oil together and then blend in the salt.

Dissolve in the bath water.

Light 4 candles (colors of your choice) and place at the 4 corners of the tub.

Step slowly into the bath water, feeling it envelope around you. Close your eyes.
Visualize yourself laying on the surface of the ocean.
There is nothing around you, you are alone and at peace.
Feel the warmth of the sun beating down on you. Say either out loud or quietly to yourself:

Be comforted, All is well Now you are blessed.
You have life to nurture and nurture you.
Be calm. Be easy. Be comforted. You are blessed.

MAGIC BATH FOR PROTECTION AND PURIFICATION

Steep a teaspoon of basil in a cup of boiling water, and strain out the herb.

Add it to you bath water for a protective and cleansing influence.

It is particularly useful to clean off the feelings left by contact with those who are negative or controlling.

MAGICK LAVENDER BATH

This spell will refresh and cleanse you. To begin, cast a circle in your bathroom.
Call the elements, and light a lavender colored candle.
Then blend in a muslin bag a teaspoon each of lavender flowers, chamomile flowers,
and dried crushed rosemary.

Hang the sachet under the faucet, and draw your bath water, allowing it to pour down through the herbs.

Add a half cup of lemon juice to the bath.

When you settle into the tub, lean back, relax, and take three deep breaths.
Close your eyes and focus on the excess tension and stress in your body.
Feel the herbs and lemon draw it out of your muscles and mind.
Thoroughly clean your tub when you are done to remove any residue
of negative energy from the bath water.

HEALING WATERFALL SHOWER SPELL

While in the shower, visualize yourself standing under a waterfall.

Ask the spirits of water to cleanse, consecrate and empower your body,
mind and spirit in the name of healing.

As the water runs down your body, visualize the negativity swirling off you and down the drain.

When you towel dry, ask the spirits of the air to cleanse, consecrate, and empower
your body, mind and spirit in the name of healing as well.

MAGIC BATH FOR HEALING AND TO REMOVE PAIN

TO MANY PRETTY OUTFITS!!!!! WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO?????

Blessed Beltaine

Also known as: May Day, Bealtaine, Beltane, Bhealtainn, Bealtinne, Festival of Tana (Strega), Giamonios, Rudemass, and Walburga (Teutonic).

Date: May 1

Symbols: May Pole, Egg, Baskets, Flowers, Butterchurn

Deities: Flower Goddesses, Divine Couples, Deities of the Hunt

Colors: Red and White

Herbs: almond, ash, cinquefoil, frankincense, marigold, meadowsweet, and woodruff may be burned; angelica, bluebells, daisy, hawthorn, ivy, lilac, primrose, and rose may be decorations.

The first of May has been celebrated in song and verse for longer than human history has recorded the date. It is a time to celebrate new life in all its forms, and the time when the Goddess and the God are united in sacred marriage, their relationship consummated, an act which symbolically fertilizes the animals and crops for the coming year.

The most common ritual act which celebrates this union is known as the Great Rite. It is the symbolic union of the male and female principles of creation, the union of the two halves of the All-Power which unite to bring all things into being. The Great Rite is usually performed by ritually placing a male ritual tool, usually the athame, into a female ritual tool representing the cosmic womb. A chalice or small caudron is usually chosen for this purpose. Couples working together will often invoke the deities into themselves and perform the Great Rite de facto, which is also acceptable.

The dancing of the May Pole is another May Day Celtic custom practiced both within and outside of Paganism. The weaving of the red and wite ribbons around the pole, like the Great Rite, symbolized the union of Goddess and God.

Make paper baskets by folding a square piece of decorated paper diagonally and gluing or tying a handel of yarn through punched holes. Then place a few spring flowers inside the basket and place on the front doorknobs of your friends' and neighbors' houses.

The kids will especially enjoy this because you have to do it undetected and not let on when people wonder who brought them the May flowers.

A variation of this is too cut colored construction paper into strips and weave two color strips together to form a square, then proceed as above.

Make a wish as you jump over a bonfire, (or campfire, May Day is a good time to go camping).

String beads or flowers for a a blessing:

May the God and Goddess and the power
Of the elementals bless me now and always be with me.

Make Beltaine bread. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F, and combine:

4 cups sifted flour
1/2 cup ground almonds
2 cups sugar
1 tube almond paste
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon 5 eggs

When dough is worked to medium soft, shape into flattened balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Cool, ice with a white Solar Cross. You could try this as a single loaf.
