Shopping treatments for winter depression

My income tax came, only took 2 weeks, and that's a record! So I decided to do some shopping. Big Lots advertised this set for a sale Saturday morning... and I was there when the store opened!!!! Good thing I did, cause they only had 4 of them in stock!!!!!! I grabbed mine and ran chortling all the way back to my car!!

Unfortunately, till the end of next week... in my car it will remain.... Matt will be home for Easter break, and he can take it out and put it together for me. Not that I could put it on the patio now... It's STILL, AND ONCE AGAIN... covered with 3 feet of snow!!!!!!!

I have to re-arrange my whole patio to put it where I want it, but that will be fun!!!!

I also hit every store between Big Lots and my house!!!! Didn't buy anything... but it felt soooooo gooooooood to get OUT!!!!!

I still need to buy a power washer.... once I had someone power wash my patio... I'm hooked!!!! It looked so clean and pretty! I know, I know, I'm a clean freak... but it looked so nice! GIGGLE

Now, my birthday's just a few days away, and I'm planning on getting myself something nice.... when I decide what.... I'll post it!

Love the full moon!!!!

A friend posted this... and it was just soooo funny!!!!!

your goverment at work!!! LOL LOL

Take a horse shoe and put it around a red candle.
Put the candle in a darkened room in the middle of a table.
Write what it is you want on a piece of paper with a quill pen dipped in black ink.
Chant the following as you write:

What I want I write here
Please take my dream and bring it near
What I want Is What I should get
Let all my dreams Now be met

Now take the paper and fold it in a square of four creases .
Hold it over the candle with a pair of tweezers and let it burn.
Picture yourself with your wish fulfilled as you burn the paper send waves of love
at the image you conjure of your self.

Dreams can be merely entertaining or intense and prophetic.
Many natural aids to dreaming can be found in the garden!

If you want peaceful dreams that are relaxing, place a vase of jasmine by your bed.

If you are having nightmares and wish them stopped, place morning glories in the vase instead.

If you need to learn something in a dream, place a bay leaf under your pillow and ask for the knowledge.

If you just want nice dreams, use a sachet of lavender.

If you want to send a psychic dream to a loved one, blow the seeds off the top of a dandelion in his or her
direction and project your wish, then go right to sleep.

If you want your dreams to come true, you can do one of two spells.
At midnight on a Friday, in silence, gather nine small non spiny holly leaves and wrap them in a cloth.
Place them under your pillow, make your wish, and go to sleep. Your dreams will come true.

Another ancient spell is to scatter marigold flowers under your bed, make your wish, and then say:

Wish I want and wish I may
come to me through dream so fair
_come by night and come by day
come, thou wish, and ride thee here

What you want, and what you settle for!

I wanted a new suitcase! I was hoping to get one to match my dolls (pink polka dots) and I actually found one on line....but it was $69 dollars!!!!!! Loved it, but know I don't have that kind of money to spend on a suitcase, especially since I already have one.... note: the black one below

So, I settled, I found some fantastic fabric my daughter gave me... and some fabric fusion glue... and I thought.... hummmmmmm. So out came the scissors, and glue, and I added some pizzzzzaz to my old grimy black suitcase!

Not what I really wanted, but it'll do, it'll do!

Jingle bells are cat nip?

I just received my FANTASTIC prize from Mother Moon...

THANK YOU SWEETIE!!!! It's really wonderful.... though I found out that Jingle bells are like Catnip to Merlin!!!

As per usual he was right up on the table checking out my box.... Merlin can't resist a box!

As I'm unwrapping all the cool stuff.... I hear "jingle, jingle" and out of the edge of my eye I see Merlin GRAB my new wand and jump off the table and head of the hills with it in his mouth!!!!!!!

Short scream followed.... me running like a crazy person after a nutso cat.... cornering said cat in the bedroom.... fighting to get the wand OUT of his mouth..... Now cat is sulking..... staring at the wand on top of the TV... and PLOTTING HIS REVENGE!!!

Remind me to lock him out of my room when I use the wand!!!!

But, I love it all!!!!!!!!

Slightly warmer weather!!!

The snow has been melting!!!! In the slightly warmer weather we have been having, some melt is happening..... but as you can see from the pictures.... it's still really DEEP!!!

Those pots are knee high on me, so you can see there is still almost a foot of snow around them. And my shed? Well, you can see I can't get in it yet, but when I can get in it.... I'm going to have a great give away!!!!

So ask the Goddess for sunshine, and warmer weather.... AND NO MORE SNOW!!!!!

Book Spells

Light a blue and an indigo candle.
Invoke a Goddess of Wisdom, and ask for her help to enchant the book.
Inscribe the book letting the inscription express the desired wish.

Preparation: At the time of the Full Moon, take your Book of Shadows (one that
hasn't been written in yet) and some incense (pennyroyal, anise or rue) outside.
Ritual: Under the light of the Full Moon, draw a pentagram on the first page and under this write the following information: date, time, place, your magical name (and sigil if you have one),

the moon's phase and any other info you feel is important. Hold the book up to the Moon and say:

"Here as the Full Moon shines upon me,
Bless this Book I've made tonight.
I humbly ask this of thee,
Underneath your most sacred light."

With the first and middle fingers, trace a pentagram over the object to be protected.
Visualize electric blue or purple flame streaming from your fingers to form the pentagram.
Say this as you trace:

"With this pentagram I lay
Protection here both night and day.
And the one who should not touch
Let his fingers burn and twitch
I now invoke the law of three:
This is my will, so mote it be!"

Over your cup of tea, move your hand in a clockwise direction 3 times and say:
"I am the tool you are the fire
fill this cup with all I desire." Swirl the tea in the cup and drink it.

This is best used at the end of a spoken or written spell.
This adds a certain boost to the releasing of energy.
It also works best if you are wearing a Pentagram you have attuned to yourself.
Speak these word with all the fibers of your body while releasing the spell's energy:

By the Pentagram I wear,
Water, Fire, Earth, and Air,
Ruled by Spirit as All should be
As I speak So Mote It Be!

The following chant is a good all purpose chant that can be used for just about any spell:

Witches power burning bright, tarot, rune and blade,
Charge the spell, enfilled with might, here and now the magic's made.
Wave and tree, hedge and flame, strength of the elements gather here,
to bless this work and charge it well, to complete the spell now far or near.
Mystic Moon and Brilliant Sun, send your power here this way,
Gracious Lady, Mighty Lord, bless this charge that I lay.
Powers that are, powers that be, gather round this spell I cast,
empower my working three times three, send it forth to see it last! So Shall it Be!

This simple spell can be used for any purpose - whether it be to empower a person,
to heal them, to bind them etc. Simply choose the appropriate color candle and scribe the person's name and your intent upon it.

Anoint it with an appropriate oil.
Light the candle and while watching it burn, repeat the following chant,
focusing upon your intent as you do so.

Powers that be, Powers of 3, Let (persons name) be all I see.

Morticia's happy

I normally don't post things about my doll, Morticia, on this site.... but my girlfriend Steph came over to day and brought a present for her... and I just had to show you all how cute it is!!!!!

She's got her own suitcase's now!!!! Just the right size for a doll!!!! And it came with a neck pillow, sleep mask, and 2 smaller suitcase's filled with makeup and her passport and such!!!!

Facebook Junkie

I have to admit not being a techno geek. I don't have a cell phone (and after seeing my friend get a HUGE tumor removed.. that they call a "cell phone" tumor... I will never get one!)

I love my computer, and I blog, and surf the web and do all sorts of things with it... but that's about it.

Till my bestest friend wrote me and told me to join facebook. WTF is facebook????
But he told me too, and I figured I might try it!

So many friends that have moved away over the years... found me... and now we can catch up, and talk, and I know what they are up too now! It's a joy!!!!

I used to go to Star Trek conventions with a ton of friends, then they started moving to different states, for work and stuff, and I have to admit missing them a great deal..... now they all found me on facebook!

And we talk and chat, and leave messages to each other... what fun!

Even a bunch of people from High School found me!!!! (unfortunately most of them had become religious nuts... and I had to delete them... but it was good catching up at least) It was funny, cause we never talked religion back then, and a whole group of them turned out to be Jehovah witness's (posting shit on my site?? NEVER! I will delete you ass! giggle) Some became pastors of Church's...etc. I never knew my home town was sooooo religious!!!

But it's still such fun to find out where and what everyone is doing that I lost touch with.

Of course, I don't show my birth date, but I did put my High School, and home town, and maiden name there.... that's how they find you.

Now I'm a facebook junkie!!! I go on site a ton of times a day... just to hear what everyone is doing, and leave comments on there sites.

So, If your missing old friends....TRY IT! You might like it, and if you don't.... just stop checking it.

And if your there, go click on my button and join me! I would love to see you there!

Shame on you all

I'm not going to read any more blogs!!!!

You all are writing, and posting pictures of the most fantastic foods!!!

Shame on you!!!!! GIGGLE

I'm stuck, here, on this nasty allergy reducing diet!!! Eating salad, and yogurt, AND NOTHING ELSE..... while all of you are pigging out on good yummmy food!

So now what I'm doing is peeking at your blogs.... If I see food.... click, your gone! GIGGLE

Maybe when I finally find all the stuff I'm allergic too, I might, just might, go back to eating a little more normal.... but till then..... stop making such yummy stuff! GIGGLE

soooo funny

You know every one is sick of the snow..... when you see this guy at the side of the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm alive!!!!

After 54 inch's of snow.... I'm alive, still here, warm, and major depressed!

My son finally called his friend who lives by us and told him to get his ass over here and DIG HIS MOM OUT!!!!

And 5 minutes later the guy showed up and dug out my car, and a path to my front door!!!

That's how afraid they are of my son!!!! GIGGLE They wouldn't have thought to do it by themselves, but the "boy" says "do it!" and they come running!!!

So today I'm going to run out and get more food, and hope this next snow isn't as bad as the last one!!! I feel like a rat trapped on a sinking ship!!!!!!

I've never been good at being contained!!!! I need my freedom, even if I don't go anywhere.... I just need to know that I can!!!!!

So I'm finally FREE!!!!!! At least for now, since they are saying more snow is coming!!!!!

I'd love to go out and take "pretty" pictures of the snow...but after 54 inch's in one week.... it ain't so pretty ANYMORE!!!!!

Thursday, February 11, 2010

I'm NOT the type of woman who cries, or is helpless... but this has got me beat.

I can't shovel cause I have a broken shoulder that never healed, so I can't use my right arm for heavy lifting...

I can't even get out my back door, because I can't open it to shovel, and I can't walk around because the snow is too deep!!!

I don't have the money to pay someone to dig me out.....

And I just CAN'T DO IT!!!!

The snow is up to my mid-thigh!!!!! I managed to get the front door open, and clear the top steps... and then slog my way to my car and semi clear off my windshield... but even if I rev up the car and ram the snow... I don't think I can get out!!!!

And they are saying more snow for the weekend!!!!!

This is the first thing that has beaten me in all my life!!!!! And yes, I'm beaten, I can't do it!!!!!

Good Morning all!!!

Got up this morning, made my coffee, sniffed my pretty tulips... doing little spring dance while smelling them.....

and I'm in complete avoidance today!!!

I WILL NOT look out the window, I WILL NOT shovel snow, I WILL NOT go outside!!!!

I'm going to sit on my sofa, occasionally sniff my tulips, check out my seedlings, and completely ignore the fact that there is a "Blizzard Warning" for my area!!!!

I refuse to succumb to "Mother Nature's" wrath!!!!

I will occasionally repeat to myself...."spring is coming, spring is coming!" and think only warm fuzzy thoughts!!!!!

Those of you who wish to join in on my Fantasy are welcome too!!!

Think SPRING, think SUMMER, think BEACH'S!!!!!

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

Hoping for spring!!!!

Bought some pretty red tulips at wal-mart to keep my hope for spring going!!!!

Merlin the pain in my @@!@#

I got a cool bathing suit set for my darling doll Morticia, and I wanted to take some pictures of her.... and as usual.... if she's on the ground, Merlin HAS to be with her!!!!

Crazy cat just loves my doll!!!!!!

From the evening newspaper......

After up to 28.5 inches of snow fell in the Garden State this weekend, another major winter storm is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, one that could break seasonal snowfall records, according to experts.

A winter storm warning is in effect in Monmouth and Ocean (that's me!) counties from 4 p.m. Tuesday to midnight Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

A weather service snowfall prediction map shows about 10 to 13 inches of snow falling in the two-county region, depending on the location.

My driveway

Notice the little path for the mailman, and by my car.... the rest I just left! couldn't lift it, and too sore to try!

sob sob

There is another "winter storm warning!" for Tuesday night!!!!!

I hurt alllllllll over, and I bearly made a path to the road for delivery's!!!!!!!

I need a MAN!!!!! who's healthy enough to shovel!!!!!!!!

The End

At the end of the Blizzard, ending at 4:55pm, a beautiful sight.... a firy red sunset to welcome the night!!!

Final count of snow, at the end of the day 24 inches!!!! Looks like a lot more in places cause the wind whipped it all into dunes!!!!

SNOW.... need I say more?

I can't get outside yet to take pictures.... the wind is whipping and the snow is falling super fast, so here are a few from indoors!

My poor little gargoyle door knocker is blinded!!!!!

You need a very wide thick White candle Piece of paper and pen
Light the candle and concentrate on what is really making you lonely,
with this in mind write on the piece of paper

"Loneliness flee from me
Misery leave me be
Goddess your comfort
Goddess your warmth loneliness flee from me"

As you roll the piece of paper like a cigarette, visualize a smoky light pouring out of you and into the piece of paper (this represents your loneliness) and fold the ends of the paper to seal the loneliness in. Light the paper with your candle and feel the warmth from the small flame and place the burning paper onto the candle until it is completely black.

Blow out the candle and when the wax is hard again remove the
burnt paper and wax surrounding and bury in the earth or throw out with the garbage.
This is best done on the waning moon.

Needs: White candle Scissors Small knitted clothing article

Inscribe the candle with your problem, then draw a question mark beneath the inscription. Light the candle and say:

"Problem, problem, melt away.
Solutions come to me today."

Snip a thread at the edge of the knitted piece and pull the yarn to unravel it. Say:

"Knitted thread, as you unwind,
Problems can no longer bind."

Wind the yarn into a ball saying:

"As I smooth you to a ball,
Solutions rise come one and all."

Alternate unraveling and winding with the appropriate chants. The solution
will come by the time all the yarn is wound.

Look how cute!!!!!!!

How cute and magical these are!!!! It looks like there were more then 4 of them, but the rest didn't survive the trip with the post office.... just scattered pieces of them in the envelope!

But these four are perfect!!! She has such a fantastic imagination!!!!

(not the real plants)

I found the perfect tomatoes seeds at Lowes today! Very hard to find, Rutgers tomatoes!

They were actually developed in NJ at the University my son is going to..... so they are perfect for NJ gardens!

I also got starter soil, and little peat pods. Tomorrow I will sow my seeds on the window sill..... starting them inside always works much better then if you buy them.

And it gives you the option to still buy them if they don't grow. GIGGLE

Of course, the picture above isn't one of the actual plants....... but I will start taking pic's as they start growing.

And show you all the other things I've started on my window sill, including Dill, and a stray avocado pit that is growing like a weed!

I had to mention that the Frog Queen sent me these wonderful "magic pumpkin seeds"!!! I'm sooo excited to start them growing on my window sill also!!! I'm going to give them free access to my garden, and let them roam all over the place!!!!

Begin on Sunday.

Light a Gold or Yellow colored candle and speak the following spell:

"A Good Job Awaits (me/or Him) I Know
For Thine Brilliant Light Scans and searches A Place for (Me/or him)
A Good Job Awaits (Me/or him) For Thine Goodness is Great
My Faith in Thee is complete!
A Good Job waits for (Me/ or him)."

Speak this spell three times. Perform ritual every day until employment is found.

Instead of "good job," maybe it would help to personalize it and change the words to "record deal," or something else that appeals to you, and if not for you...sub the persons name there!

It would also help if you had some blood or hair of the person looking for a job... you place this in the flame of the candle while reciting the spell

Whooo Haaaaa!!!!

DENVER – The Air Force Academy has set aside an outdoor worship area for Pagans, Wiccans, Druids and other Earth-centered believers, school officials said Monday.

A double circle of stones atop a hill on the campus near Colorado Springs has been designated for the group, which previously met indoors.

"Being with nature and connecting with it is kind of the whole point," said Tech. Sgt. Brandon Longcrier, who sponsors the group and describes himself as a Pagan. "It will dramatically improve that atmosphere, the mindset and the actual connection."

The stones were moved to the hilltop last year because erosion threatened to make them unstable in their previous location near the visitors center. Crews arranged them in two concentric circles because they thought it would be a pleasant place for cadets to relax, Longcrier said.

When Longcrier and academy chaplains were looking for an outdoor worship space, they discovered one already existed in the form of the circles.

Lt. Col. William Ziegler, one of the academy's chaplains, said designating the space is part of the school's effort to foster religious tolerance and to defend the constitutional guarantee of religious freedom.

"It's about our commitment as airmen to protect freedom and defend freedom. To me this is a freedom thing," he said.

The school also has worship facilities for Protestant and Catholic Christians, Jews, Muslims and Buddhists.

The academy superintendent, Lt. Gen. Michael Gould, has made religious tolerance a priority. It became a concern in 2004 when a survey found many cadets had heard slurs or jokes about other religions and that some felt ostracized because they weren't religious.

Longcrier and Ziegler said they've heard no criticism of the new worship space but both noted its presence was just made public.

"Not to say that it's not coming, but so far we haven't had any real issues," Longcrier said.

He said 15 to 20 cadets have shown an interest in Earth-centered beliefs, and eight to 10 regularly attend Monday night meetings. Of those, six or seven are devout believers and the others are "searchers," Longcrier said.

The academy has about 4,000 cadets. The school is one of five U.S. service academies, including West Point and Annapolis. Cadets graduate as second lieutenants.

"Earth-centered" spirituality encompasses many beliefs, Longcrier said, many that recognize multiple gods and goddesses and observe holidays tied to the seasons.

Longcrier said he personally doesn't consider gods and goddesses to be actual beings but personifications of natural events that human ancestors wanted to put a face on.

"The goddess is symbolic of the Earth," Longcrier said. "Do I believe I'm worshipping this female entity living in the Earth or up in space somewhere? No. The symbolism is very important."

The group's meetings are usually devoted to mediation, lessons or ceremonies, he said.

Longcrier, who oversees laboratories in the academy's astronautics labs, said he has military designation as a "distinct faith group leader."

Anyone is welcome to visit the new worship site but it should be treated as a religious structure, he said. A formal dedication is planned in March.

I'm ashamed!

I do such stupid things sometimes. I finally went out to the shed, I had a tote I needed to put away, and while I was there, figured I'd bring in THE suitcase.

The one I always take to Con with me. I know, it's not till July....but I was out in the shed anyway, so why not?

When I got it in the house I noticed it was heavy? what did I do? Forget to unpack two years ago?? No, it was worse!!!

Two years ago I was a dealer at the Convention... when I came home, I took out my clothing, but for some strange reason.... I left my Money box in the suitcase!!!! And stuck it in the shed!!!!

The good news is, I had an extra $40 bucks to go shopping with!!! The bad news is, I could have used that extra money over the last year! SIGH

This year I swear I'll clean out the suitcase, and keep it in the house!!! really! No, really, I mean it!!!

Over the years I've found food left in the suitcase, wet swimsuits (check that out after a year in there....there was strange fungus abounding!)

Also, tickets, and stuff I bought at the con.... but Money... never!

At least it wasn't something gross like that swimsuit!!!!

Now you can see why I start getting ready so early. I'm not the most organized person in the world! Giggle So, I start preparing early and this makes sure I don't forget anything.... I know, real anal, but with my memory it's better safe then sorry! GIGGLE

Now I start preparing.... Things to go in the suitcase:

First aid stuff (you wouldn't believe how you can hurt yourself when your tipsy!)

Sewing kit (at least safety pins!!! we won't talk about the snapped bra feascal of 2001!!)

All meds. Tylenol, and bennadryle...stuff like that

Then I start planning the clothing...shall I go sexy, or business, or relaxed, or a little of all of them...this can take a while cause I like to bring new clothing with me (not those t-shirts with grease stains on my tits!)

Should I get a new bathing suit? Or take the comfortable well worn one?

Always bring a pillow, and an extra blanket too. should I pack them, or just carry them?

FOOD! With my allergy's it's best to bring most of my own food, and just eat in my room....

and sometimes go to the restaurant in the hotel for coffee, and to hang with my friends.

(now the hotel has a restaurant, a bar menu, and a Pizza Hut right inside!)
Oh they

also have a breakfast buffet, and usually a Sunday brunch buffet... so foods always around...better to bring my own, and not be tempted and wind up with an allergy attack!!!

So, I need an ice chest... my old one died... so have to find a new one... must be easy to carry since the hotel has steep stairs going from the parking lot to the rooms.

And I need new ice packs... you know those blue thingies.

So as you can see, it takes LOTS of preparation.

And last of all.... doing all this keeps my mind occupied during those last horrible months of winter!!!!!

To be done with it

There are times in our lives when we become burdened with worrying.

We spend so much time worrying that we never come to solving the problem.

Sometimes we have past hang-ups that prevent us from moving towards more positive lifestyles.

This little spell is to help us put an end to these ruts and problems in our lives.

Needed: Ashes from burned paper, Jar or bowl to hold the ashes

Moon Phase: Waning Moon

Locations: Outdoors

Write down on the paper all your worries and problems, everything that is bothering you, ie: lack of money, worry too much, a person, place, or idea.

place the paper in a heat proof bowl. Using a pin,Prick your finger, and drip 3 drops of blood onto the paper with all your worries.... and say:

Bad blood be gone, good blood remain!
Then burn the paper!

Gather paper ashes the day of the spell and place in a glass jar or open bowl.

During the day, hold the jar or bowl and visualize all your worries and/or hang-ups pouring from your 3rd eye and heart and into the ashes.

When the night falls, take the ashes out to your yard, Field, woods, or parking lot.

Hold the jar or bowl in your hands and do one last pouring out of
your worries and hang-ups. Now say:

"You are ashes, And to ashes you shall return."

Pour the ashes out of the jar or bowl and walk away without looking back.
When you've returned home be sure to wash out the jar or bowl.

Burn some incense, take a bath, or light a candle, and refocus. It is done.
